The decor in the bar is cool and funky and there's always a friendly atmosphere. All the staff, Amy Luke Paul Andy who work in the bar are fantastically friendly and great company. The cleaning staff, Eleanor, Gianluca and Desire are all very friendly, helpful and keep the rooms and common areas very clean.

Love this hostel. Had the most wonderful stay here. The beds are comfy, bathrooms clean and there is even a kitchen. On top of that there is a nice pub as well, where you can socialise with fellow backpackers, locals and of course the super staff! Thank you for an amazing time!

User

I love the place because it's unique and has a good atmosphere as well as a very friendly staff. Plus, I love the beers, all of them and I think they are professionals in procuring beers with finest quality.

User

I had my farewell party at No8. It was a great evening. Thanks to all the staff for making it a memorable night!!!

User

Had a very good night at the No8 staff were very friendly and the manageress Rachel was very helpful. very good value for money and close to local transport links " Dollis hill, Willesden green stations , And the place has free wi-fi and a pool table which is handy when the weather is bad.

User

Had a great experience. Beds were made when we arrived, big self serving kitchen, and the staff is great. You feel like a long lost friend walking through the door. Would stay again and recommend. It's cheap and worth your time. Station is close to get to central london. Plus, free pints for every review you write! ;)

User

Absolutely amazing hostel for backpackers,

very friendly staff, always ready to help,

rooms are clean and spacious,

Nice bar with chilled beer, darts and pool table.

Lovely atmosphere.

Will recommend to everyone.

User

Willesden is a really cool place, the bar downstairs has a great vibe and hostel guests get discounts beer which is awesome! A bit out of the city but it's an easy 10-15 minute train ride here

User

The bar is awesome! Friendly staff, provide map of London, but the hostel isn't on it. Big kitchen and good location beside a food store!

User

The No 8 Hostel in Willesden Green is absolutely recommendable, because even if not everything is working perfect, there is always a friendly and cosy. It is just like having an extra family on holiday and I'm really gonna m,iss you ! Thank you for the great time ! :))

User

My second of 8 nights... I Love this place, feel like home for the ambient!

Bathrooms are pretty clean actually and also is the kitchen! I'm still wondering who is playing the chess game... And Im not gonna leave without trying the pool! The worst thing for me is that is 10 min walk from zone 2!

User

Bunch of fun people, very welcoming, Andy gave me a map of the area around the hostel and highlighted routes for me to take to see the local spots to visit and enjoy! Plenty of social games to play in the hostel! Enjoyed a lot!

User

Booked the hostel earlier in the day and arrived 1 hour later without a problem. Lockers are big enough for a large backpack and the staff are very friendly. Also, the music and layout in the bar create a enjoyable atmosphere. For the price of the hostel you get a location close enough to the city.

User

We had a great stay at No. 8! The staff were friendly and helpful and when we needed to change our reservation. Only thing we're not enough showers for the amount of people stayin. Good for the price.

Major note - if you are in town for three full, or more, days then you NEED to get the Oyster 7-day card. If you get it with Zones 1-2, you'll have to disembark at Willesden Green and walk for approx. 10-15 minutes depending on your speed. If you get Zones 1-3, you can get off at the reasonably closer Dollis Hill station. Both are on the Jubilee line.

Bar had a reasonable number of locals the evenings I was around, as well as travelers who were staying, and they all seemed to blend just fine. Decent spread of tvs around the bar, and prices seemed reasonable for all drinks I had.

Like a previous reviewer said, there were issues with cleanliness and the number of functioning bathrooms. However, after coming back from a day of sightseeing, many of the issues were fixed. The bathrooms were noticeably cleaner, there were more bathrooms avaliable, and the lighting issues were resolved. While you don't get a 2nd chance at a first impression, I'm happy this hostel made a terrific effort to improve their property.

User

Cool, simple and cheap. Good atmosphere and great location. You won't find another affordable and decent place like this I think!

There are signs ALL over to write a review for a free pint, I think a lot of people sold out for the free pint...One star is one too many - hostels in London on average are expensive. My friend and I found this place looking for a deal (6£ per person) most hostels are £25-40 per night so you get what you pay for. Disgustingly dirty, the place should be condemned and I seriously do not have high standards, I like being economical but if I'm worried about being dirtier stepping into a place than I have concerns. There are too few bathrooms functional bathrooms, 2 per floor most of which were clogged and out of order. Backed up shower drains that would leave you standing in 3 inches of brownish water if you dared, mysterious smells (someone must have die and they didn't bother to look for the body). The bedroom I stayed in didn't have the funny smells fortunately, plenty of outlets. I was tired and slept well. Realistically it was just the awful bathroom areas - you would question if you should hold it and the few functional ones always had people in it. The pub downstairs has comfy chairs and wifi which is awesome, enticing, and deceptive. Sometimes is better to spend the f money. Maybe I get the free pint with this review?

I paid for a single room, which coincidentally was attached to the balcony where people smoke. Therefore the only "fresh air" I could receive was filled with smoke. On top of that, when going down to the front desk at midnight and asking if they regulate the time that guest can remain on the balcony throughout the night, I was told there was not. So I had very loud guests literally directly out my window until 230 in the morning. Then the fire alarm went off four times ranging from 245 to 325 in the morning due to people burning food in the kitchen. The only thing I was offered as compensation was to be moved to another room the next morning. The bathrooms are scarce and not well kept. The guests who I met were very friendly and the staff were as well, but how the establishment as a whole is run was terrible. Do not and will never recommend to another person visiting the city.
