Staff very friendly. Gorgeous building.kept very clean.

our room had everything we needed the grandkids loved the bunk beds. Plenty of soft fluffy towels. Pool towels were also available from reception.

The bar menu was good well priced. Drinks were not expensive for a hotel.

Breakfast had lots of choice buffet style. It was busy in the restaurant when we arrived. So had to queue for hot food it was refilled quickly without having to ask.

The hotel is in a fab location minutes away from shops, restaurants, beach and gardens.

Cannot wait to return I would highly recommend the hotel to couples and families.

User

Had our wedding here and could not be more happy with how it went we had a lot of people stay at the hotel aswell and they commented how lovely it was the food was fantastic we actually booked a extra night because of the fantastic service it's great value for the service and great hospitality you receive thank you Norfolk team and to john rachel and paul for making our day and stay truly special

User

Fab service. We had a pre hen do here. Access to the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room for the day then afternoon tea. Staff helped us decorate the seating area where we had our afternoon tea. It was gorgeous. The hen thoroughly enjoyed herself. The afternoon tea was so tasty. Very filling. Thank you 😊

User

Excellent afternoon tea. Staff lovely and so helpful and friendly. We changed a few items on the afternoon tea menu and nothing was too much trouble. A very relaxed and enjoyable afternoon, this is my second visit and glad to say it gets better.

User

Everything I expected as a former chambermaid and waitress in the 70s, only more relaxed than my working days. I was staying on a half board basis. The food was excellent, absolutely! I had a single room which was very nice and a spotless clean bathroom with the fastest running bath ever! Kettle, with coffee etc & biscuits was replenished everyday. The only downside for me was the heat - it was stifling The staff were very helpful especially the young, lady, trainee manager.

User

Been four times before love this place. Staff friendly rooms spacious even the basic ones are a great size. Pool and sauna great and bar and piano room so relaxing couldn’t ask for a better location so easy to Walt to town or sea front

User

Stayed here for 2 nights . Lovely room . The hotel is in a perfect location and couldn’t be more central . The food both nights was truly amazing . Service great . Really good breakfast choice . Will be coming again soon .

User

Executive Room pleasant and bathroom enormous, bed comfy and room well ventilated having two windows + another in the bathroom. Back of the hotel so quiet.

Everything we needed in the room.

Lift rather antiquated and only took a few people at a time but stairs not too bad - although creaky.

Decoration needs sprucing up and some of the staff need to learn some customer service skills - and how to smile !!

Great position- close to shops restaurants and short walk to the beach.

Only ate breakfast which was pretty good overall.

The pool is rather small but at least there is one !

Parking charged as an extra at £15 a day a bit steep but as close to the centre okay.

Would probably stay here again if coming to the area.

User

Always a good afternoon tea but I did request no butter in sandwiches which lady confirmed when we arrived but when they came we had butter in . Others top notch as always .

User

Afternoon tea was lovely and we were made to feel very welcome and important, the only reason I didn't give 5 stars was due to the fact that we were left standing in the reception area for nearly 20 minutes when we could of been seated, this was down to reception.

User

The hotel is very nicley situated near shops and sea front, remember its hilly in Bournemouth.

Do be aware of the £15 per day for parking your car at the hotel.

After changing rooms and 3rd time lucky, we were happy with our room at last. Again be aware the floor on level two has floor boards that are incredibly loud to walk , so unless you can levitate and that includes other guests be prepared to take ear plugs.

Our has all you need and is clean and comfortable enough. The staff are friendly and breakfast was good enough.

The place is old and has some very nice aspects but is in need of some TLC.

Now the pool sauna and steam rooms !

Well after going up and down so many times to use it and tge swipe card not working was a workout I did not need.

Three times, it failed me.

Then you have to go back up the stairs again to get to the pool, which was nice and warm.

Then when you leave the pool you have to go back down the stairs to the changing rooms where the steam room and sauna is.

However the biggest problem that in all my years of going into sauna and steam rooms NO DRINKING WATER

REALLY ! No phone to request any either.

Also I was dripping wet the card would not work again to get in there from the pool.

Had my husband not turned up in would have had to walk dripping wet in my swimwear through the bar to reception for help.

Oh and my husband left me in sauna and asked for water to be sent down and it did not come.

This sadly is a very badley set up .

However staff are nice when you complain it would be so nice if you did not have to.

User

Brilliant service and fantastic food, but overall the hotel could do with a bit of sprucing up and some freshening up as it's a tad scruffy in some areas and dated to the 90's. The pool area had ants, and there was no water to drink after the sauna/steak room, which could be a bit dangerous if people over exert themselves.

The food was superb however!

User

Afternoon tea. Disappointed was in the bar area at low tables. Walked past restaurant and some having it in there so not sure why we couldn't. Tea was lukewarm - had to ask for a fresh pot. The tea itself too ages to come. Bread was slightly stale. For £12.95 felt should have been more special. Such a shame as a lovely hotel and was looking forward to it.

User

We were there yesterday. My friend booked it, if I had known she will choose this venue, I would've fine the booking. Setting for Afternoon Tea was good but the service sucked! Waiter and staff were nowhere to be found.🙄 Nothing has changed!

User

I booked a table for 13 people for this afternoon for afternoon tea, it was my friends baby shower. I was really excited to have it at the hotel as my parents are from London and usually stay at the hotel when they come to visit my partner and I.

The reception staff were really lovely and helpful in helping me book the table and when asking if I could decorate the table with balloons and confetti I was told it was not a problem, I could do as I wished and they would even help me set up if I needed it, which was really great.

However the afternoon tea experience it's self was really disappointing.

There were 13 of us and we were given a very limited about of food and tea pots between us all, I had to go and ask for more because no one was checking on how we were or if we needed more. The lady that served us was okay but more attention could have been made to ours needs as we were not very impressed.

The actual food was not up to scratch! The sandwiches were starting to go slightly stale as they had obviously been left out somewhere too long, the cake selection was some mini mince pies and brownies but they weren't very fresh either or very nice.

I'm feeding this back as when I have been previously for afternoon tea it was really lovely so I think some more detail needs to be paid to improve the service again. When paying for the food and drinks the man behind the bar was very blunt and it sort of topped off the bad experience!

Please sort this out as the hotel could be really lovely if the staff were a bit polite and the food was better quality or kept fresher!

User

Friday night awful dinner menu said gala pork and egg with onion marmalade turned out to be half a slab of pork and egg pie. Asked for a steak cooked rare told chef can only cook medium or well done not rare. Service not good staff not very friendly except for the young barman with dreads great bloke very good at his job. Saturday evening far better good food good service, maybe because the hotel manager wasn’t there, he’s bossy and rude to his staff and customers.

User

Booked through Groupon for an afternoon tea. Hotel from the outside looked really run down and in need of a new paint job however once inside was nicely decorated. Reception staff were nice and helpful but when I got to the bar to check in for my booking the man was very rude and unhelpful! Was told when I booked over the phone that I needed to show my voucher on my phone when arriving however the barman said I needed to print it off and then went on to ask if I have ever used Groupon before - how condescending! The food was a bit c**p if I'm honest, a couple of mediocre sandwiches and some cakes that were clearly frozen beforehand. We received our food and the barman told us he's be back in 5 or 10 minutes with our tea - I would have liked it with my food and ended up having to ask someone else for the tea as he didn't come back! I certainly won't be booking again and cannot believe you charge £22 PER PERSON normally!

User

A very disappointing visit to a hotel we have been coming to for a number of years and have been very happy with in the past. Having booked early in February and paid the first night's deposit we arrived and paid the remainder of the 6 night DBB stay. The room allocated was dark on top of the main road with constant traffic noise and with a piece of wallpaper missing ,presumably torn off by a child. We asked at the reception if we could move to another room and the girl there said to give her ten minutes and she will do her best to look for another room for us. After 10 minutes we were asked to wait to speak to the manager. We saw the manager, not a friendly man,who addressed us as 'guys' and he told us that the room we were allocated was a standard room and anything else will be an upgrade which would carry a charge. Anyway, he said, since you booked early prices had gone up by about £350. No alternative room was offered and no effort was made to meet any of our requirements. Customer relations is obvously not a priority at this hotel and sadly standards have deteriorated lately.

After deliberation we have decided to stay in the room allocated and make this our FINAL visit to this hotel!

User

Christmas dinner what an absolute joke!!! It was like a nursing home dinner. In all my life I have never been served anything like It!!! The smallest peice of floppy microwaved turkey, 5 tiny Brussell sprouts, 2 dry potatoes and a carrot and parsnip and that was it!!! I paid £26!! My wife was nearly sick as one of her potatoes tasted like an old dirty sweaty sock. She asked me to try it and I gagged too!! You should be ashamed of the service that you provide for your customers!! Everyone at outlet table said how awful the food was and I'm pretty sure all the rest did too!!
