Norman Conquest

What a great night. Greeted by Phil on the bar with a smile. He took our order & answered all questions. Food came out hot & tasty. Dessert was huge, & definitely enough to share. Would come here again when next up in this part of the country. Thanks guys x

This is one of the best places I've been to in Middlesbrough , the food is gorgeous , and not expensive , quite cheap tbh , staff are friendly and the place is spotless , I would recommend it to everyone to try , one of my favourite places for food and drink !

Superb Christmas day meal today! Food was hot, plentiful and very tasty. Took a while to get our main course but we were in no rush and well worth the wait. The floor staff deserve a special mention: unflappable and served us with good humour and a smile. Our day was special - thank you!!

Gorgeous food but had to wait 50 mins for it even thought we booked a table but sayin that worth the wait

Always lovely food and our steaks are always cooked to perfection , good service love the mix grill and the new classic meals are fantastic x2 for £8.99

We go there with grandchildren because they have food they enjoy my opinion is food is good but I like my chips hot but they are usually Luke warm that's just me being fussy�

Went to the conquest today just to celebrate hubby getting a new job. Never have any issues with the conquest, it’s our favourite local. But today after ordering Gammon steak no extras it came with egg, and 8oz smothered rump medium came super well done was so dry had to take it home for the dogs. No one came over to ask if the food was okay and tables were full of food from when people had left 20-30 mins ago. I will obviously go again in hope that the chef learns his checks correctly and his meat temperature

Went on Wednesday lunchtime,only 1 bar person on,ordered a standard fish n chips and a Codfather,the only difference between the meals was a slice of bread and butter and approximately 6 chips,expensive slice of bread I’m afraid ,batter was very soggy and oily.Wont be back in a hurry.

Was my grandsons 18th birthday totally spoilt we took cake banners cards wouldn't serve us an alcoholic drink for him then said 40 minute wait for food waited over an hour at end of day we all fell out with each other so thanks Norman Conquest will be in to see the boss tomorrow

The food was horrible last night because of the wait I couldn't be bothered to complain at the time or wait for another meal to be cooked, we were there for a birthday meal and there was no high chair as requested. The pub was boiling hot which made us all feel uncomfortable

Normally wait 40 minutes for food and food is normally great. Today waited over an hour for the food and when it came one meal was cold and the other was well over done. There was only half a dozen tables full so wasn't busy. Seemed understaffed.

Disappointed with our lunch mushy peas were cold and hard .the scampi and chips were ok but for a main meal not sufficient and not presented very well .won't be visiting again will stick with our normal place the Stapleton arms were we have had lovely meals in a nice friendly atmosphere .

Been tonight for tea with son and friend. Ordered the kebabs which had 3 tastes. I tasted one...burnt. Very dry, rice tasteless, salad had had better and overall horrible. Left most of it. My son had steak which again came burnt for second time he had ordered it. Use to be a good place to eat and in couple times a week. Think be giving it a miss from now on. Not good

Been today for dinner...first time we have been in ages and safe to say will be a while before we return.

Ordered 2 surf and turf....came with boiled onions boiled chicken breast ...the steak chips and peas where ok.....and dirty cutlery.

Would give it 1 more a 0 never been served food like it..cold raw bacon frezzing cold chicken..infact whole meal was cold...

Would give a zero if I could. Xmas party had to wait 1 hour 40 mins for food it came and was appalling one of us had a hair embedded in the mash. The turkey was Bernard Matthews stuff the staff were cocky and miserable will defo not be returning

What a disappointment chef couldn’t cope tonight waited nearly 2 hours for food order came wrong then give give up waiting and walked out hungry after 2 1/2 hours

Waited 55 min for food 2 steaks for my partner and myself not worth it at all like two old boots

We both thought we try it one more time never again

Massive queue of customers at peak times and they say there's only one till open so direct all customers to it.

After everyone is eventually served they then open another till. Plenty of staff to open them.

Won't be coming back.
