Norman Walsh developed the Tornado in 1983 due to the demanding market of athletes competing in major marathons and races across the globe, most notably the 1983 London Marathon. What a refreshing change to have a pair of fell shoes where the treads wear out (eventually) before the uppers fall apart. I love my pb extreme shoes for that wider fit. Great shoes for fell and general trail running. Good work NW
