A&e staff are rude over the phone, they don't give you the information or advice you ask for.. last time I was in the a&e I had pneuomonia and a blood clot on my right lung, it took the doctors and nurses over 24 hours to diagnose me as they refused to do a CT scan!! Yes they did save my life, but they took far too long diagnosing and leaving me in agonising pain for hours!

Broke my arm on 17th Nov 2016 and after x-ray in A&E was put in temp plaster and told hospital would send for me, too swollen to reset. Sent to Orthopaedics 21st Nov which turned out to be a horrendous experience, the staff almost devoid of any care or compassion, more concerned that I'd used up all of their gas and air...as I heard one nurse tell the other. It was like I wasn't in the room pulling and tugging at my arm with little concern it was attached to someone not asking was I o.k..? knowing I was there on my own. Two weeks later x-ray showed reset had failed so then operation to pin it, which also failed and then pain so bad almost passed out worse than when Id broken' it, ended up on morphine, back to Orthopedics for removal of temp plaster, pain so bad was almost on floor, asked for help but nothing, in fact heard same staff as before say "for god's sake" because I couldn't put my arm out straight for 2nd temp plaster, ended up having 2nd opp my arm rebroken and set with metal plate on 15th Dec, friend got parking ticket picking me up then had to go back to ward 5 times because discharge drugs written out wrong.

A&E staff caring and helpful. Clinics always busy but have very knowledgeable consultants. Seen within thirty minutes of your appointment time.

Dropped my wife of an A&E today, busted ankle, Staff good, waiting time acceptable , Getting a parking ticket for "not parking in bays" not a great experience, as all the bloody car parks were full, !! next time I will call an ambulance how much cheeper would that be FFS.

Grimy, understaffed and absolutely hectic in A and E. Not a safe environment for people who need quick and/or life saving treatment. No use for minor injuries either as simple treatments such as checking a small cut can leave you waiting up to 4 hours.

This place gets a really hard time from the News & Star who print a story bashing them on a regular basis, and maybe in some cases it's warranted, but in my experience the maternity unit were amazing. From the tea lady to the anesthesiatist, they were so comforting. The midwives were on the ball and very quick to respond to all queries and the team who performed the caesarian were professional and unbelievably calming. They took us both through everything step by step and made the experience manageable (which is one hell of a bonus). Thanks to everyone up there for all they did.
