North Downs Shepherd Huts

About North Downs Shepherd Huts

East Surrey's ultimate glamping experience, set in picturesque farmland near the Kent border. The perfect romantic break or countryside escape.

North Downs Shepherd Huts Description

Need to escape from the bustle of daily life? Then find inner peace by escaping to one of our shepherd huts, located at Broomlands Farm in stunning countryside near the North Downs Way on the borders of Surrey and Kent, just 4 miles from Botley Hill Farmhouse.

Fully equipped with the necessities of modern life but with an old world charm that will delight and inspire, these huts make for a romantic and peaceful break for two.

Each hut has been hand-crafted in Somerset to our own specification, with stunning interiors in a Shaker-style theme and painted in Farrow & Ball colours. Solid oak flooring and worktops add to the sense of luxury and sheep’s wool insulation keeps the huts cool in the summer and warm in the winter. And if it rains, the sound will be a comforting pitter patter rather than a deafening drumming noise!

The shepherd huts are spacious and come equipped with a wood burner, kitchenette, a mini fridge, toilet, shower and sofa-cum-bed. Luxury towels and complimentary toiletries are provided. French doors lead outside to the barbecue and fire pit, perfect for outdoor cooking on balmy summer days.

With views over picturesque farmland, this is the ultimate glamping experience, ideal for a romantic break for two or a unique retreat while visiting friends and family in the area.

Make the most of nearby riding stables to book a hack at Hurst Green Shires, or keep your feet on the ground and simply admire these mighty horses. Leave your car outside your hut and walk for miles through beautiful countryside and National Trust land around Limpsfield Chart and Westerham, and pay a visit to Westerham Brewery to sample their award-winning ales and lagers.

Some of England’s finest historic houses are just on the doorstep. Make time to visit Chartwell, the former home of Sir Winston Churchill, and the 13th century Hever Castle, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. Or explore the National Trust’s Chiddingstone village - one of the most beautiful and oldest villages in Kent.

Although the shepherd huts are fully equipped for self catering, a cream tea, including homemade scones and jam, will be waiting for you on arrival and fresh milk and other essentials are provided. We offer a bed and breakfast arrangement with a basket of fresh local produce including bread, pastries and eggs each morning for your continental breakfast. Sausages and bacon are available on request for an additional charge. This should keep you going until you decide to make the most of the barbecue or fire pit or come in search of a hearty meal at our 16th century inn, which is just a 10 minute drive away. Here you will find a mouth-watering range of home cooked dishes using wonderful local produce, plus a hand-picked selection of fine wines, and real ales from the nearby Pilgrim and Westerham breweries.

A stay in our shepherd huts is guaranteed to recharge the batteries. This is a true opportunity to experience nature in luxury. So, switch off the computer, hold all calls and open the doors to one of our unique holiday homes – then simply relax.
