The NECPC aims to build public and political support for actions that improve the lives of children growing up in poverty in the North East of England.
North East Child Poverty Commission Description
The North East Child Poverty Commission is a stakeholder network that aims to build public and political support for actions that improve the lives of the more than 1 in 3 children growing up in poverty in the North East of England.
Members include senior representatives from organisations such as local authorities, housing associations, the region's universities, public health, faith networks and charities including Children North East, Youth Focus North East and Youth Homeless North East.
The Commission is hosted by Newcastle University and funded by the Millfield House Foundation. It is not a charity and does not carry out general fundraising activities or appeals.
