We are running our Blue Service this weekend!
From the comfort of one of our vintage diesel units you can enjoy panoramic views of the North Norfolk coastline and surrounding countryside or why not sit behind the Driver and see how the train is operated 👍

If you have visited Sheringham Station or town recently you may of spotted these ‘Tribute to the Fallen’ silhouettes.
On Saturday 10th November the railway will be playing host to displays and reenactors on the platforms and from 5pm onwards, the silhouette figures will gather from around the town and will be taken away into the dark by a train pulled by the Y14. They will then be returned to the station to be taken to St Peter’s Church for an evening of remembrance music.
... If you are in Sheringham on that day, please feel free to join with us to remember those residents of Sheringham, Upper Sheringham and Beeston Regis who gave their lives in World War One.

Today is the last day we will be running our Yellow Service.
But fear not! We are running trains every weekend in November plus our Santa Special trains in December so there’s plenty of opportunity to travel with us 👍

Top marks to NNR volunteers at Sheringham and Weybourne for the fantastic support you gave to our group from St Nicholas Care Home on Monday afternoon. Your friendly welcome and cheerful and efficient help in making the train and station accessible made our outing really special - thankyou so much!

User

Oh to see and feel the power of a steam engine is just brilliant. Can't beat hanging out of the window smelling the steam, and getting smuts in your eyes brings back many memories of the good old days.

User

Great train journey very nostalgic it’s not cheap but as it’s funded by the fares and donations and run by volunteers it’s a fair price to pay and a very enjoyable experience thank you.

User

Great day out, wonderful staff and volunteers!

User

Enjoyed a fantastic birthday present today, a signalling experience day. Really interesting and extremely well hosted by Bill our guide and Graham the signalman at Holt. From walking some track section to view points and signals close up, learning how it all works and quite often operating the apparatus. This included pulling point and signal levers, using and responding to the bell code communication between Holt and Weybourne and the safety critical vintage token control apparatus. Then, taking the token in it's leather pouch with hoop down to the engine driver. Even an unexpected real treat outside the signal box! Every volunteer I met on the North Norfolk Railway (Poppy Line) was welcoming, knowledgeable, smart and always ready to talk to you and answer questions. We always find their attitude is always positive. They really enjoy their work and are a credit to the whole railway organisation. I must add also, every area, either platform, building or rolling stock was really well maintained and very clean and smart. In fact, my impression of the whole of NNR is truly outstanding! Make a date and JUST GO and visit. You will not be disappointed! A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!

User
