Stopped for help with a troublesome hub while cycling the coast 2 coast. Dave was extremely patient and efficient in fixing my ailing bike, patching up the front mech in no time to allow me to soldier on. Knowledgeable and great value, not to mention good for an enjoyable chat while he works his magic - would absolutely recommend if you are in the area and have any kind of issue that needs sorting. I cannot recommend the shop highly enough. My bike broke down only a third-way into our Coast-to-Coast challenge last weekend, with my derailleur hanger snapping off. Before finally finding Dave, I went around so many bike shops in the Lakes with no luck and was close to tears with the thought of giving up. Dave fixed the previously unresolvable problem within 10 minutes and went on to sort out my chain and derailleur as well. And this all happened after 5pm, totally our of hours at weekend. If I lived closer, I'd definitely take my bike in for regular maintenance, or just for a chat! Thank you so much Dave.
Brakes of my recumbent bike broke down, 2 days into my C2C trip. Brakepads turned out to be less common then I thought. Situation was pretty desperate, but David turned it around in no time. Great service of a great guy!
This guy knows what he is doing. I won't go anywhere else. He has helped me make my bike the best it can be and got me squared away for my triathlon. Great service and great prices.
David Raeside the proprietor of North Pennine Cycles is a rare breed, he knows his job, he knows bikes - in fact he is a bike wizard. We stopped here whilst completing the C2C as one of our number had some mechanical issues. He was that good we all decided to have a quick cycle health check. Well worth stopping here, even if you think all is operating well you'll learn quite a bit watching Dave adjusting and repairing. Great value for money and so much better to have a knowledgeable and genuine person repairing your bike.
Had an impromptu visit to Dave's shop today owing to a bike breakdown during C2C. Brilliant service and reasonable pricing by a very knowledgeable fella. Highly recommended.
Was forced to stop here on the C2C as my rear derailleur broke.

Amazing little bike shop on the C2C route. Has all manner of spares and tools to fix any issue you might encounter on your trip and will go to great lengths to ensure you can complete your ride.
