About North Road Gym Amateur Boxing Club
Not for Profit Amateur Boxing Club located in Catchgate, Stanley, County Durham. Affiliated with England Boxing.
All coaches are England Boxing approved, DBS Checked and have years of experience in the sport.
Boxing classes are available from complete beginner level through to elite level, from 8 years to 40 years both male and female.
We also welcome those who just wish to keep fit and promote a healthy lifestyle whatever your age or ability.
Boxing and boxing training is a fantastic, dynamic sport that builds confidence, is self-image enhancing, builds dedication, team ethics whilst having a tremendous impact on fitness levels. To top it all of, it's fun.
Ego's are left at the door in our gym, if you are unsure, message us or come along and give it a try!

First 2 North Road Gym bouts of 2019 last night at the Dunston and Leam Lane show at Gateshead Fed.
Our smallest and biggest boxers fought in two very close contests. Young Sean Curry having his first real bout and winning by a split decision.
Secondly, super heavyweight Tom King got pipped in an absolute banger that could have went either way.
... Great show, absolutely chocka.

Tomorrow afternoon at the Lancastrian suite Dunston, North Road Gym have 4 boxers on Dunston ABC show. Dan English featuring in his 50th bout defending his 60kg USL development belt, Pierce Booth, Zack Carhart and Sean Curry all boxing! Come down and support the lads! Tickets only £12, doors open 12 noon first bout 1pm!
Solid unanimous points win at the Birtley show tonight for Shay Renwick. Stuck to the gameplan and got the result. Well done shay.
Absolutely gutted! All ready for the off with Billy Phillips to box in the development semi finals down Liverpool. Looking forward to seeing Billy do the job and and progress to the final next week
Getting the stitches removed from last weeks cut first only to find out it was stitched wrong and has not healed with a possible fractured cheekbone. We can’t let Billy box. It’s not worth the risk. Safety of the boxer comes first.
... Billy will be back stronger and hungry to make his mark.

Great performance from all the boxers. Coaches are extremely proud of all of them, all giving 100%.
Highlight of the night is Dan English winning the North East USL Development Belt in great bout that was Dans 49th. Some feat. Onwards and upwards from here!
