We seem to be over the worst of the strong winds we've experienced today as part of #stormciara. Thanks to everyone who has called us regarding incidents across the county.
Please remember to only use 999 in the event of an emergency.

A firefighter has pledged to raise £2,500 for a cancer charity and is being supported in his efforts by crewmates at Wellingborough Fire Station.
Firefighter Ronnie Sherratt, of White Watch Wellingborough, will be running this year’s marathon for Macmillan Cancer Support.
And crews at Wellingborough have stepped in to help him reach his fundraising total by holding a Macmillan Coffee Morning at the station in Irthlingborough Road on March 28 (10am).
... Visitors will be welcomed along to enjoy coffee, tea and cakes with their local firefighters, all in aid of a good cause.
This is the second time Ronnie has run the London Marathon as he did it for the first time last year, raising £4,600 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

This collection of photos were taken as part of last night's 'crash landing' training exercise involving a plane fuselage at Tresham College in Kettering.
Students involved included those from various disciplines such as Travel and Tourism, Uniformed Public Services and Drama courses.
With a plane full of synthetic smoke, as well as casualties to rescue, this was a demanding exercise for firefighters from Desborough, Rothwell and Kettering stations as they practised respondin...g to a rare set of circumstances.
The challenge was to evacuate the fuselage, rehearsing their procedures for dealing with large aircraft. It was also a good opportunity to go through methods of search and rescue while using breathing apparatus in smoke and darkness.
Students also played a key role in responding to this staged scenario, benefitting from the chance to learn more about the work of the emergency services. Taking part in the exercise also helped students complete assessments as part of their course and will ultimately aid in them gaining a qualification in Cabin Crew.

Thinking about positioning a new smoke alarm? Think landings, hallways and on ceilings in middle of rooms rather than in kitchens and bathrooms, as this can lead to them being set off by accident. #OneIsNotEnough

The training exercise at Tresham College has just finished. Now a chance for a quick look inside the plane cockpit. Ready for take-off! (not really)

The plane fuselage is now filled with smoke at this training exercise at Tresham College, Kettering. Pictured are Crew Manager Lauren Fitzgerald and Station Manager Ashley Tugby who are among the firefighters taking part.

Some dramatic scenes at Tresham College this evening as passengers and cabin crew, played by students, are evacuated from a plane. All part of this evening's training scenario and thanks to Tresham for allowing us to use this amazing facility once again.

Do you smoke at home? Make sure you put it out – RIGHT out. Cigarettes in the home can start a fire. Find out more: firekills.campaign.gov.uk #FireKills

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) is urging people not to use sky lanterns to mark celebrations.
Not only are the lanterns often used in Chinese New Year celebrations, but they have become a common sight at many other events ranging from weddings to funerals.
However, NFRS advises against their use as in the last 10 years, firefighters have attended 29 incidents relating to sky lanterns in this county.
... These incidents have ranged from fires affecting trees to blazes involving roofs, drains and guttering.
Nationally, there have been well publicised incidents of the devastation which can be caused when a lantern leads to fires.

It is important to keep your smoke alarms clean by dusting them, to make sure they are able to function properly and detect smoke. #FireKills

Smoke alarms may be irritating if they go off when you are cooking, or are triggered by steam, but their most important function is to help save your life if you have a fire. Remember that and never disconnect or take batteries out if an alarm goes off by mistake. #FireKills
