Reviews
great hotel well worth the money thankyou all at northcote manor
Lovely location, great staff and service, and fabulous dinners. Breakfast surprisingly mediocre.
Fabulous food and good service. Rooms ok. Suite we had felt like they put a sofa in the entrance hall and called it a suite. No coffee table so didn't feel like a lounge area at all. In the plus if you are looking for great food and don't care about the room then it's great. Or be a non residential guest for dinner.
Lovely stay at Northgate Manor including their 7 Course gourmet dinner. Thoroughly recommend to you - just ensure you don't partake of the cream tea on the same day. Food was outstanding along with great service from the staff. Our room was very comfortable, albeit a tad warm. Beautiful grounds to walk in.
Amazing place out of this world dining and exemplary service at sensible pricing
Wonderful romantic and relaxing venue for a wedding party.
Little bit overpriced for what it is. Food was fine, but not spectacular, particularly breakfast. Rolls wirh dinner could have been fresher. Good choice of accompanying wines with the dinner.
Tatty and rundown in neglected grounds on a hill up an unlit wooded drive, like something out of a B horror movie. Then, despite a booking for a £200 a night suite, we get an HILARIOUSLY pompous "Can I help you???" greeting from an hysterically off-message staffer who didn't even realise that he was a novelty American, hired by pompous Brits, who think it's funny to have a colonial.
For Northcote Manor labours under the delusion that it is 'posh'. The suite was badly, cheaply converted and the loo was on a little plinth in a narrow nook you cannot fit in, with a hot pipe up the wall next to your knee. The suites have long pretentious silly names and the evening menu was a triumph of pretentious foams, so daft that they only serve it at £95 a head, to anosmic pensioners. The shooting parties get less pretentious fare, I gather.
And at breakfast, the top price establishment serves the MEANEST most penny pinching misery, about a third the quality of a damn premier inn! Just made to feel entirely unwlecome and merely being able to afford the room rate, didn't mean that you got treated like proper people. I have never felt quite so sneered at in my life. As poor as church mice in a rotting old heap of a house. Avoid unless you like being treated like a nobody. And that Yank... very nearly had to wait while I wanted to drive back down the slimy drive and start again. Just don't go....
Very Nice. A great place to hold your wedding reception. We really enjoyed it here
