With continued demand for Northern Escalators GmbH (NE GmbH) services throughout Europe, the parent company Northern Escalator Installations LLP (NEILLP) has taken the strategic decision to open a dedicated office base in Stockholm, to service the Scandinavian market sector of Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.
... The new Stockholm base will be known as Northern Escalators AB, and will enable (NE GmbH) to service customer requirements more effectively within this region. Niyazi Yildiz has been appointed Managing Director of Northern Escalators AB, and the new division of (NE GmbH) is officially operating from 1st December 2016.

Northern Escalators GmbH (NEGmbH) recently began major project work on behalf of Electra Ltd, one of the strongest performing companies on Israel’s bustling business landscape, incorporating large-scale electromechanical systems, construction and infrastructure projects.
... The escalator Installation project is part of the wide-ranging extension to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport, including six OTIS 610 NPT moving walksways and five OTIS 508 NCE escalators.
The installation work is scheduled to take a period of 3 months, with (NEGmbH) engaged in providing a team of qualified field engineers for build-up, testing and commissioning. The project commenced in November 2016.

Northern Escalators GmbH, the German sister company of Northern Escalator Installations LLP, is proud to announce significant installation contracts acquired with Schindler Group at two major developments in France.
... The first contract is with Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens (RATP) the state-owned public transport operator responsible for most of the public transport in Paris and its surrounding Île-de-France region including the Paris Métro, tram and bus services and part of the Réseau Express Régional (RER) network.
The Escalator installation project is part of a scheduled 400 new and replacement escalators to be installed over the next five years within the Paris Métro, starting with a planned 40 replacements and 20 new escalators for 2017.
Schindler have also agreed a second contract of 30 escalators planned for the Rennes Metro in 2017, with installation work on all units beginning in December 2016. Rennes is a vibrant University City and Brittany’s administrative capital.
All installation work includes transportation of escalators to site, full build up, testing and commissioning of escalator units by our qualified team of field engineers.

Northern Escalator Installations LLP at Prestige Office Development Minster Court London EC3
Northern Escalator Installations LLP (NEILLP), the escalator installation and removal specialist, has recently completed a major project to remove sixteen escalators from the prestigious office development at Minster Court London EC3, on behalf of 777 Demolition Ltd.
The removal project included a range of specialty services undertaken by NEILLP, from feasibility and site surveys, to ...advising the customer prior to any works being carried out, consulting with builders and architects, producing detailed RAMS, supplying transportation and cranage for the escalators being removed, through to gaining authority for road closure and arranging traffic management where necessary.
A dedicated Project Manager was appointed at the beginning of the work to be our customer’s point of contact, throughout the whole of the removal operation.
The removal of the escalators took approximately four weeks from the start of the project to completion.
Minster Court is built on the site of what was an ancient convent around 1,000 years ago, which is the source of inspiration for much of the Post-Modern Gothic architectural building design.
The full completion of the Minster Court refurbishment will see this iconic building transformed into modern open plan office space.

Northern Escalator Installations LLP (NEILLP) has recently been awarded the contract to install eighteen bespoke architectural scenic elevators for a major commercial development project, at Bloomberg buildings in central London.
The project includes Northern Escalator Installations LLP transporting the consignment of elevators from Finland, via its own dedicated... specialist transportation fleet, on behalf of Kone plc.
Full testing of all elevators will be undertaken at our purpose built testing rig facility prior to transportation, installation, and commissioning of this project at the London location.

Northern Escalator Installations LLP - Proud Involvement in Crossrail at Paddington Underground Station
A Modern Take on a Victorian Icon
Northern Escalator Installations LLP is proud to be involved in the London Crossrail Underground project, and to have won the 1.5 million pound contract to install 15 escalators at the new Paddington station on behalf Otis Ltd, the world's largest manufacturer of people-moving products, including elevators, escalators and moving walkways.
... The Crossrail Paddington Station is being built directly below Departures Road and Eastbourne Terrace and will offer a superior travelling experience with smoother interchanges and improved accessibility, easing congestion and providing space for future growth in passenger numbers.
Originally built in 1853, it is the design legacy of Isambard Kingdom Brunel and the architect Matthew Digby Wyatt. The new Paddington station is a modern take on a Victorian icon! Built to the south of Brunel’s iconic 19th century station, the new station spans three levels with two entrances into the station via a new pedestrianised zone.
The station will take the form of an underground box measuring 260m long, 25m wide and 23m deep.
As passengers descend into the station via escalator or lift, the station box is lined with flush-jointed brick, perforated in places for acoustic absorption. Other materials are equally durable; glass, bronze and anodised aluminium, plus the stainless steel of the common components such as the escalators.
The construction of the station which started in October 2011 is due for completion during 2017.

Northern Escalator Installations LLP Design Bespoke Mobile Crane System for London Underground
Northern Escalator Installations LLP has designed and installed a bespoke mobile crane system for London Underground (LU).
The challenge was to design a crane system which, in principle, would provide a simple solution for the efficient removal and installation of rail track, at the same overcoming the problems of space limitation.
... The crane system combines strength, durability and maintenance accessibility, all in compliance with the stringent regimes of (LU), Fire Prevention and HSE.
The unique mobile crane systems are situated at Liverpool Street and Paddington underground stations and have been specifically designed by Northern Escalator Installations LLP to enable fast, efficient removal of worn track, and the installation of new replacement track.
The crane systems are fitted to the walls of the tube tunnel, operating on their own overhead track. All operational parts are fire resistant, and the whole system was fully tested in accordance with EU BS28532011 legislation.
This was a two year project with successful completion of installation in January 2016.

Northern Escalator Installations LLP On-The-Ball at Anfield Football Stadium Liverpool
Anfield, the historic home of Liverpool FC football since its formation in 1892, with its unique atmosphere, holds a very special place in the history of the City of Liverpool, English professional football, and its association with football the world over. The stadium is undergoing a planned phase of re-development and increased seating capacity.
Phase 1 of this expansion is the Anfield... stadium main stand, which will increase the number of seats by 8,290 to give a stadium capacity of around 53,783. Also in Phase 1 will be the extensive re-development of the Liverpool FC corporate entertainment suite.
Within this development Northern Escalator Installations LLP has been successful in winning the contact to install the first three, of a planned programme of twelve new escalators.

Chris Igoe has worked for NEI LLP on a freelance /part-time basis for over 3 months and became a full time member of staff in January 2016. Chris joins the company well qualified in the most up-to-date design engineering technology. He holds an M.Eng. from Leeds University and is a member of; (ICE...), Institute of Civil Engineers, (ISTRUCTE), Institute of Structural Engineers, and (CIHT) The Chartered Institute of Highways &Transportation. In his spare time Chris is a keen badminton league player.
