BSSF ( British Sleddog Sports Federation ) Races 3 & 4 PEMBREY.
11 / 12 January 2020.
More of a fun and test weekend with six bitches in season and boys off food and awake all night, also first time out with this configuration in van for sleeping and admin ( worked well sleeping over twenty dogs and two people!
... So Pembury is over five hours away ( 320 miles ) in South Wales so again a test of how new pups would travel after nine hours in van ( overnight ) no mess at all ( Brill ) however after getting them out and then putting them back uptipped water bowl so had to clean out cages anyways... haha..!!
As to the race I now know which groups I will competitively race in Scotland, we took third overall in the six dog Nordic breed and sixth in the four Nordic breed.

Second day in reverse, always train two days on the trot it simulates a race weekend! Still full from Christmas looking at times lol. So nice to have the forest on my doorstep!

Time to work off Christmas Dinner and too many bones, two slow runs around Warren Wood - training area Thetford Forest. Nothing much changed here since last time in May.

BSSF Thetford 23 & 24 Nov 2019 8 Dog Nordic

Last Weekend - Our First Race of the Season.
We joined BSSF ( British Sleddog Sport Federation ) here in Thetford Forest for race 1 & 2 of the six race series. This is the England stage before heading off to Wales then onto Scotland.
Only putting out one team of Eight Northern Breed ( NB ) Siberian Husky's ( KC Registered ) to see how our training was coming along.
... After run one on Saturday we were sitting in second place but only a few seconds to third, trying to keep position would be interesting and would mean the dogs being consistent on Sunday.
Sunday's Race was better in time than Saturdays and I don't think the dogs had much more to give but we did drop a place to a faster team overall but its early in the season..!!
Congratulations to John and Kev and a massive THANK YOU to all my handlers ( without you it would not be possible ) Karen, Beth and crew, Michelle and crew. Also to the timers and everyone for doing there duty's out on the course.
