Northfield Cycles

After taking my bike to another shop and being ripped off by them I finally took it to Northfield Cycles as I was told by my friends who use you all the time ! It was great service and they fixed it for a fraction of the price I was expecting. Thanks guys it’s now rides great!

Fantastic staff! Explained everything in plain English and even told me to buy the cheaper bike as I wouldn't tell the difference.!! Can't rate this shop highly enough thanks guys

Absolutely superb shop and fantastic service. A man who knows everything about his trade and was able to supply me with the perfect bike at a great price. Id checked out the shops reviews before I visited and the majority were 5 star. I'm amazed that some of the negative reviews were from people who had purchased bikes elsewhere/ off the intenet to save a few quid and then taken them in to Northfield cycles to get them sorted! And were unhappy at what they'd payed. What a cheek! And so I only took the sensible reviews seriously, and I am so glad I did.

Great shop to get your bike from, just purchased my third bike this week, very pleased with it, the guys are very helpful and expertise is spot on, this is the place to get your bike from, not Halfords.

I'd been asking my daughter (5) what she wanted for Christmas for some time, and until the 18th December was not getting a straight answer. Finally, she says she wants a bike and I've got a week to find something... Great. After much research I settled on a Raleigh Performance 16 in turquoise, not a cheap bike, but it looked absolutely gorgeous and my mind was made up. I could not however, find anyone that could guarantee delivery in time for Christmas. Online retailers said it just wouldn't happen, so I worked my way down the list of Raleigh authorised dealers until I reached Northfield Cycles, who told me they'd have the bike delivered from Raleigh and ready for collection within 24 hours. They were true to their word, updated me every step of the way and even set the bike up for me and installed the extras that came with it. I couldn't be happier and they solved what was looking like a very tricky problem. The bike is amazing and now I can relax. Thank you :)

This was my second (negative) experience with them. The first time was last year. I took a recently bought, old bike to the shop for a service. It was only to be used to get me back and forth between Uni and home. For a £75 service (the bike was only £100), I was greeted with derogatory comments about the bike. My disappoint here was with the customer service, not the cost.

I gave it the benefit of the doubt and went in today to buy a lock and hopefully get my tyres inflated after it being standing for 9 months.

I thought that bike stores for cyclist friendly? After walking 2 miles to a the petrol station, I realized that the valve on my tyres were not suitable. I head to this cycle shop, I was always going in for a lock, but now I couldn't pump my tyres, I thought they'd have been able to do it. I was greeted with "We don't normally do that, but you can buy a pump and an extension". So they normally do but in what circumstances?

The irony is, I got back to the petrol station, used my new valve extension and I had two flats. Had the shop been cycle-friendly, I would have bought two new tyres.

I will be going out of my way to never use this place again.

Went into the shop describing what type of cycling i wished to do, was then told what what type of bike would be best. Was advised a hybrid would be most suitable for what I required.

The service was excellent and the member "Neil" of staff knew what he was talking about. I am very happy with my purchase can recommend the shop for other people.

I had looked at bikes in other larger well known stores but the lack of service put me off and for similar bike at these stores I would have paid a lot more.

Took bike in for repair - a car had run over back wheel. I asked for quote. I stated the quote needed to be accurate as someone else was paying. It came back as £50. Went to pick the bike up. Tyre was flat - they said it was another £8.75 to sort the problem out. If you ask for a quotation - take it with a pinch of salt!

The repair was OK but really unhappy with the service.
