Northfields Station

Nice station on the Piccadilly Line, between South Ealing and Boston Manor. A few Westbound trains terminate here.

The station itself is fine, however there was an incredibly rude person operating the shop inside the main booking hall. Respect doesn't seem to be his Forte...

Station is fine, but thanks to the twitchy commuters who use it it has the worst atmosphere in all of London. Despite the fact that everyone else on the train will have been making a longer journey (many from abroad, joining the service at Heathrow Airport), always standing and surrounded by other passengers' unwieldy suitcases, as soon as the doors open at Northfields all are treated with sarcastic, condescending demands to "make room door heaven's sake" by tongue-clicking self-important maniacs with superiority complexes and cheap cologne. If you need to get out for a moment to let someone else off, you'll be forced to physically push the locals back or they'll shove you out of the way and squeeze in past you, pushing the other person trying to leave back inside if need be. It's bizarre. I can immediately tell I'm at Northfields without even looking because the clarion calls of bossy commuters whose time is clearly more important than mine ring out the moment the train arrives there, even though they get extra (emptier) trains starting there in between the full ones. I hope they will get their own special line to the City one day and leave everyone else in peace.

Station is excellent no doubts I recommend to my all time favourite

Too busy, you can never get on trains in rush hour.

One of my favourite Charles Holden stations, built in inter-war art deco / modernist style in the 1930s. The large, tall rectangular concourse is spacious and rather breathtaking, if you take a moment to look up. There is also a generously sized forecourt, meaning you can exit the station as a pedestrian and feel comfortable, not bombarded with vehicular traffic.

* Want an empty train towards Acton and London???, This is were to get it. Most Weekday mornings a fresh empty train comes out of the nearby sheds around 9.30'ish. Check the forums etc on google, as there is an actual timetable for empties ! Ahh. Pure luxury (well it is when it's empty !)
* Want to save money on travel at rush hour?, If you live in Boston manor, walk across to Northfields (multiple routes available around a 12 Minute walk, check Google Maps), and your in a different Zone saving you some of your cash! Check up to date fares for these two zones to see the difference.
* For bikers there is a handy Pump and tethered tools point near the road side.
* Toilets 20p coin (1/1/2017)
Buses Station side E3 towards Acton, Chiswick & E2 to Brentford
Buses opposite station E3 towards Greenford & E2 To Ealing Broadway
* Hungry? There's a Fish and Chip shop across the road left turn out of the station and there's a Takeaway selling kebabs, burgers etc across to the right, out of the station.

Charming station, art deco simple but in pristine conditions. Relative easy access even though there are a few steps to reach platforms. Clean toilet available, ticket machines.

Helpful staff but you need to pay for the toilet if you want to use it.
