About Northumberland Country Zoo
Northumberland's hidden gem, situated within 17 acres of the picturesque heart of Northumberland, 5 miles North of Morpeth on the A1.
Northumberland Country Zoo Description
Originally starting off with just four chickens and a couple of donkeys, Northumberland Country Zoo is proud to have evolved into Northumberland’s newest Zoo as they were granted a Zoo Licence in June 2016 after lots of hard work. Situated 5 miles north of Morpeth and within 20 acres of the picturesque heart of Northumberland, visitors will find a wide range of animals big and small from friendly Donkeys and Goats to more exotic species like Parma Wallabies, Raccoons, Eagle Owls and the ever popular Meerkats.
Not only are there a wide range of animals to see, there is also a brand new 9-hole Mini-golf course which was constructed earlier this year and a mini electric tractor track for both children and parents to enjoy.
NCZ have their sights set on being one of Northumberland’s major attractions in the coming years. This comes hand in hand with getting more involved with in-situ and ex-situ wildlife conservation work as well as building on their educational side to inform Northumbrian's about the wildlife that the world has to offer. Visitors are in for a treat as the animal parks’ collection plan involves bringing in some more exciting species in the not too distant future!

Meet Jet & Jazz, the Baudet du Poitou donkeys! They are a rare breed of French donkey and one of the largest breeds of all.
At just 6 months old, they are already larger than our existing donkeys and they are not finished growing yet 🙀
