Special anniversary unveiling for Northumberland Victoria Cross holder: A commemorative stone was unveiled at a ceremony at Widdrington Station to mark the 100th Anniversary of the awarding of the Victoria Cross to James Bulmer Johnson.

Drive launched to keep our roadsides clean: A major campaign is underway encouraging motorists to play their part in keeping the county clean and green.

Knowledge and best practice was shared at social work conference: Northumberland County Council recently attended the North East Children’s Social Work Conference to share knowledge, experience and best practice across other local authorities.

The second phase, coming into effect on the week commencing 12th November, requires a change of collection day for 24,662 households - more than 2,000 in the Castle Morpeth area and over 22,000 in the south east of the county.
