Our girls football team had their 2nd session at the Girls Football league at Goals on Monday. They continued their winning streak with 12-1 and 5-2 wins over Birkbeck and St Michaels. This puts the girls in a fantastic position to potentially win the whole thing with 2 sessions remaining. Mr Green is proud of both their sportsmanship and football skills.

Silver Birch had a fantastic day at the Museum of London looking at Roman life in London. We particularly enjoyed sketching a real Roman Wall and thinking about why the Romans built it.

We are proud to have been awarded this certificate from the Gender Action Awards Team for our work in challenging gender stereotypes.

Treacle will be back on active service this week. She recently had an operation and the children made her a get well soon card. Great to see that caring about well-being includes all of the NHP family.

Whitebeam really enjoyed their visit from a Viking!

This week, our year 5 and 6 girls A and B football team played a friendly fixture against Crook Log Primary. It was great experience for our teams, with our A team winning 4-0 and B team losing 3-0. We are looking forward to future fixtures.

Miss O'Rourke visited the Children's Literary Festival at Knole and met Chris Riddell. She bought a Book of Hugs for the Book Barn which he kindly signed for us.

One of the ways in which we can work together to support the wellbeing of the children is to help them to understand potential dangers found online.

Recently, our year 6 girls football team played their first round in the Bexleyheath Goals Girls Football League. Northumberland Heath played 3 games against Danson, Upton and Our Lady OTR. We played exceptionally well and won all 3 fixtures with score-lines of, 1-0, 8-0 and 6-1.
Most schools in the borough have entered a team which means the girls will have a lot more fixtures over the coming months and we look forward to building on this great start.

Year 4 had a fantastic day learning about the Vikings. They learnt the story of Beowolf and Grendal and created their own story maps. They then went on to learn about how the Vikings lived and acted out the Battle of Maldon.

A huge thank you to everybody who dressed up and donated today. The children have had a wonderful time. We came into school listening to our amazing school choir, then went on a safari around the school and ate a zoo themed lunch that was cooked by our fabulous kitchen team! The costumes were brilliant! Well done to you all!

Ms Bailey recommends. Wonder by R J Palachio A wonderful book which shows us the beauty within a person, The first times I read it I cried, and the second time too... "When given the choice between being right and being kind, choose kind."

Last week in year 5, we were using tree maps to generate exciting vocabulary to describe characters. Mrs Pickles definitely wants to know more about the alien that Tyler in Pine described. He also made sure that his handwriting and presentation were just as out of this world. Well done Tyler!

NSPCC Sponsorship. We are thrilled to see so many children trying to raise money for this amazing cause. It has however, been brought to our attention that some unattended children are knocking on the doors of strangers. We have explained to the children in assembly and in class that they should only approach family and friends. Please support us in keeping your children safe.

Riley in Maple is really loving this term's wider curriculum subject of Friend or Foe. They are learning about the lives of the Anglo Saxons and Vikings. As part of his homework, Riley created an amazing round house using many materials including bark and straw.

During the week, we were visited by the NSPCC. We participated in a workshop and learned our rights and the best ways to keep ourselves healthy and safe. Our school council are also really excited about the NSPCC charity danceathon, which takes place next week. Let’s all get together and raise money for a great cause!
