This Valentine’s day, we’re celebrating the many couples that began their lives together at Northumbria. One of these is Victoria and Matthew, who met while they were studying Accountancy at Newcastle Business School. Here, Victoria shares their story with us.
Did you and your partner meet at Northumbria? Share your story in the comments, we'd love to hear from you.
"I started my journey at Northumbria University in 2010, at Newcastle Business School, studying Accountancy. ...It was here that I met Matthew and we became a couple. We spent the next 3 years studying hard and both achieved brilliant degrees and a fantastic start to our careers with the help of the unbelievable staff and facilities the university has to offer.
Everything about our journey at Northumbria was special and I can honestly say that I look back on our time there with great pride and joy. I am extremely proud to be an alumna of such a fantastic university.
Of course we also have to thank the University for bringing us both together, and now 9 years later we are happily married and have just welcomed our beautiful baby girl, Katie. We even went back to the business school for our pre-wedding photo shoot as it holds such a special place in both our hearts.”
