Here at Northway Playgroup we are excited to announce a further expansion to our existing services. Kidz club starts January 2019. Parents have been asking us for years to offer this as part of our Provision. Now we are in the Children Centre we feel it is the right time. Open to all. Use us as a wrap around childcare facility or on an ad hoc basis.

So today after school we at playgroup said goodbye to Lorraine the schools finance and admin officer. We were joined by the teaching and support staff of Northway Infants school. Lorraine joined school as a military style operation was under way as we were planning our move from the old building to the new. Head deep in boxes, a colour coded system and shouts for more cling film please as we endeavoured to pack it all up were part of the early days for her, along with putting... on her wellies and hard hat and going over to the building site with Lynn Williams as decisions were made about what was going where, along with the endless communication between the builders and the suppliers on a daily basis. Then once we moved the daunting hand over of the building along with the hundreds of keys that came with it, plus the instructions on how everything worked -10 binders full of information and instruction which had Lorraine looking at times a little overwhelmed. Lorraine's list of jobs knew no end -we saw her removing panels off toilets, tightening door fixings and I once recorded on my phone Lynn and Lorraine attempting to lift the man hole cover outside in the pouring rain (they failed). Despite the enormity of her job Lorraine remained helpful, friendly and courteous to all the parents who would often come to the office for help and was always pleased to pass a minute or two with the children as they brought the registers to the office. For us here In Playgroup her support was always evident-helpful and kind our staff children and parents are so grateful for her approachability and kindness. We will miss you lovely lady but you take with you our love and best wishes for your new adventure. Take care, stay in touch and remember you are always welcome in our community playgroup and that there is always a brew on the go. Today we joined together with Northway Infants school to remember and pay our respects to those who gave their today for our tomorrow's. We were joined by 4 residents and their carers from Magnolia house. All of the children were amazing throughout the assembly. The art work and wreaths produced by the children in all year groups from Nursery through to year two are stunning. Well done to everyone who made this possible.

So today we said goodbye to our Pre-schoolers.
An amazing group of children who have filled our year with smiles, laughter, wonderment, surprises, achievement, and of course the Wow factor.
Saying goodbye is never easy, but we do so knowing they are so ready for the next step in their learning -School.
... Thank you to our parents, some of whom saw the youngest of their children leave us today. Families that have been with us for several years and who tell us -no more babies for them!
It has been our privilege to be a part of your children's lives and to have worked with you to help nuture, support and teach them through their Early year's.
You have shared with us this year our triumphs like our "OUTSTANDING" judgement from Ofsted Achieving Bristol stds The success of running the Children Centre in our first year. The happiness in Leonie becoming a mummy herself. The pain of the eligibility code.............and 30 hours !!!!.......Vas, katie, Alison....HMRC 😓 who knew it would be that hard!!!
Then the heartbreaking news that one of our little friends was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma. The incredibly humbling experience of watching our playgroup families and our community rally to support our family in their hour of need and the knowledge that they will continue to be supported from you, as your children embark on their school adventure together.
Then just 4 weeks ago you shared with us and supported our dear colleague as she lost her beloved husband to Cancer.
Through out the whole of this year you have been the most amazing group of people. The most amazing families and as a team we are incredibly grateful for all your support-your loyalty and just for being you.
Thank you for the faith and trust you placed in us with your most precious jewels -your children. They truly are a credit to you all.
Finally, thankyou for the vouchers you presented to us at the Children 's concert so thoughtful and kind. We were over whelmed.
We all wish you the happiest of Summer holidays with those who make your world - your children. - Stay safe and look out for one another.

Harri's friends in playgroup made some balloons to go on the wall for Harri's visit. Harri wasn't well enough to pop in, so this photograph is for you Harri to wish you good luck and to let you know we are all thinking of you. A big playgroup hug to you all.

Northway Preschool playgroup are now taking bookings for placements for September 2018. Our playgroup is a community run group with charity status situated in the Children centre and a room in Northway infant school with an outside area that joins the two together. This enables children to get used to a school environment making the transition into School so much easier for them which is a huge benefit regardless of which is your childs chosen school. Our groups are age rel...ated enabling children to make friends of their own age many of which they will go to school with, we also ensure we mix the groups at times to help support language development and social skills. Our children learn through play in an exciting, well resourced, safe and thriving environment where all of the 17 areas of the Early years curriculum are covered.
