Nose2Tail Family Butchers Description

Tim and Lynn Parrett have had a lifelong passion for good quality food and animal welfare which has culminated in the bold move of starting Nose 2 Tail Artisan Butchery.
Tim’s early career was in agriculture and feels passionately about the promotion of good animal husbandry, promotion of rare and national breeds along with the belief that the whole of any animal should be utilised for the right style of cooking and not just minced. Along with a lifelong passion for field sports, Tim wants to promote game to everyone.
Lynn’s early career was as a chef, she has a deep rooted passion for good food, cooked with a passion for the products that we use.
So it wasn’t a surprise that Nose 2 Tail came into existence! After completing an extensive artisan butchery course and procuring our shop in Lewes our two passions have come together! With Tim’s extensive knowledge of rare and national breeds with suppliers in and around the Sussex area, and Lynn’s love of cooking Nose 2 Tail provides a wealth of knowledge and variety and hopefully inspiration.
Along with all the usual items you would expect in a butchers shop we will also be stocking mutton, veal, rare bread beef along with venison and game birds. All our sausages will be homemade along with handmade pies, pasties and wild boar sausage rolls.
Inspired by the food markets of Italy we plan to make your evening meal decision an easy one with ready prepared delicacies made with fresh ingredients. And for those of you who are just looking for a little inspiration why not take a look at our recipe cards which have all been tried and tested by the Parrett family!
We hope that you will visit our shop and be inspired to increase your repertoire of ingredients and meals with a little help from us!

It's Mother's Day on Sunday, and for that very special Mum we have some amazing local (Fletching) Badger Face Lamb and Aged Beef, as usual we have our High Welfare Chicken, and our amazing Fresh Fish Counter, so spoil her rotten just like she should be :)

All of the above is available as a half box for £16.50, if you would like to swap any item then we are happy to do that, including anything from our fresh fish counter including our homemade fish cakes!

A successful National Butcher's Week for us, showcasing all our wonderful local meats and our highly rated home made products including pies, meatloaf, sausages, meatballs and fish cakes. A huge thank you to all our wonderful customers who supported us last week, and to all our new customers too!

Our fresh fish counter is available from Thursday, Friday and Saturday with amazing locally caught fish and our homemade fish cakes. We ordered a leg of lamb and shoulder of hogget for a big family lunch cooking for 13 at Easter and it was absolutely superb! Everyone said it was the best lamb they had tasted in a very long time! Excellent!

We decided to have something a little different for Christmas this year rather than the usual turkey. Kate found this place on-line and thought we should try them out - and what an absolute pleasure they are to deal with! We chose to go for a haunch of venison which was delivered to us the Friday before Christmas. It was deliciously tender and very reasonably priced. We thoroughly recommend them to anyone looking for good quality meat.
