Not Just Pets Rescue

Not Just Pets is an animal rescue charity in Hull.

The shop has been open for four years now and has a loyal and compassionate customer base whom without it wouldn't have come so far! I opened for business on July 19th 2010. I sell a large variety of pet supplies including; Pet food, pet beds, pet toys, pet treats, pet accessories, bird houses, rabbit hutches, you name it; I am likely to sell it. (Do not hesitate to ask) I also sell a variety of products for smokers. (pop in and have a browse) I offer mobile services for pet nail clipping, microchipping and a home collection service for the dogs I groom.
Over the years I have had various animals dumped on my doorstep, shoved through the door in boxes or just handed in. I have taken responsibility for these animals, housed, fed and sought veterinary treatment when required. Some of these live happily accompanying me to work where they have their own fan base that come to visit and pet them regularly! (You know who you are : ) ) I am also often called out to assist in the searching for lost pets, the rescue of lost, abandoned and poorly animals and have highlighted the issue we have in our local area with feral cat communities via The Hull Daily Mail. I actively advocate spaying and neutering schemes in the hope of preventing the epidemic from becoming a bigger problem (the added risk of disease to our domestic cats). I have been taking in and rescuing poor abandoned pets, caring for them, taking them for veterinary treatment and re-homing them into forever homes. I do this because I don't want to see any animal suffer in pain or be neglected. Every animal deserves a chance in life, just like we do. In some cases, we have been able to locate the owners and reunite them with their pet, but this is not always the circumstance sadly.

This has now become an everyday routine for me; my home and shop are over run with pets in need of forever homes. (Please check out my albums and see if you can give a poor pet a forever home) My business is now beginning to suffer because I am always out of pocket to help these animals and sometimes have to close up the shop to help an animal in need.

We are in desperate need for a new rescue shelter in the area, as I'm taking on lots of animals other rescues can't due to being full. Therefore I am aiming towards opening my own! It will take a long time to get the funds together for a bigger premises and funds for vet bills and legal bills but I know it is possible, WITH YOUR HELP! If anyone is willing to help, I would be so grateful for donations to help achieve this or by donating pet food, litter, old blankets, pet beds, or anything that could help out these furbabys in need.
