This weekend our Senior Cadets took part in a TIBUA (Training In Built Up Areas) exercise at Whinny Hill on the Catterick Training Area.
While there some of our Adult Instructors had an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the principles of TIBUA to allow them to deliver similar exercises in the future.
What did you do this weekend?

2020 kicked off with our first Adult Volunteer training weekend at our Cadet Training Centre in Chilwell, Nottingham.
Our team ran an accredited First Aid at Work (FAAW) to re- qualify existung and qualify new Instructors so they can train Cadets safely.
We also ran out first Familiarisation course for Adults interesting in becoming volunteer Instuctors with a really diverse and keen group ranging from builders, farmers, parents, engineers, carers, students, roofers and e...x Regular and Reserve Soldiers.
2020 is a packed year with weekend camps, adventurous training weekends, music camps, foreign trips, sport and our key week nights training with Annual Camp in Thetford.
If you fancy something different, challenging, fun and, ultimately, rewarding that makes a positive difference to young people, contact us.

Today was the Annual All Souls Day Ceremony of Homage and Remembrance at the Polish Air Force Cemetery in Newark. 397 Polish Airmen, Soldiers and Sailors are buried here and it is the largest Polish Military cemetery outside of Poland. The part that our Polish Allies played in WW2 is very significant and should be remembered, serving in all European theatres from the Battle of Britain right through Italy (Monte Cassino), D Day and the Battle of Arnhem and many more.
I had th...e privelege of meeting Konstanty Stazlszkiewicz, one of the few surviving members of 1 SBS (Independent Polish Parachute Brigade) who jumped at Arnhem, Operation Market Garden, in 1944. What a fine gentleman!
If you have never visited the Polish Air Force Cemetery in Newark, I would commend it to you. Beautifully kept and a fitting memorial to our friends who, far from home, gave their tomorrow for our today. Lest we forget.

The #CadetPortal App is potentially hugely significant in enabling our cadets to see at a glance how they're progressing through the syllabus while allowing them to find out about upcoming activities.

If you are an Adult thinking about joining the ACF, we offer lots of great courses that will develop you and your skills. It's not all military based subjects by any means. This week, one of our volunteers is doing their British Canoe Union Paddle Sport Instructors Course at the Cadet Centre for Adventure Training (CCAT) in North Wales.
This will qualify him to coach /instruct groups of Cadets and Adults in Kayak, Canoe and Stand up Paddle Boards. It is a Nationally recognised qualification and is just one of many Instructor Courses (Climbing, Mountain biking, Mountain Walking) offered by CCAT.
So, if you like the great outdoors, have a passion for passing this on to the next generation and want to learn new skills and be paid to do it, find out more from Notts ACF.

Well done to Cadet Lance Corporal Fenton Killen (Worksop D) on your Two Star, Cadet Bredon Brewin (Clifton Det) on your One Star and Cadet Ellie Sanders (Ruddington Det) on your One Star. Just 3 of the 350 odd Cadets, whose certificates were signed tonight at County Heaqquarters, for achieving their Army Proficiency Sylabus Star passes on Camp and during the last 12 months. You don't get these for just turning up! Well done all. Commandant
