Thanks very much to Simon Cutner and all at LMA Recruitment for their amazing support of the NSPCC over the past two years, with lots of brilliant fundraising activities from quiz nights and bake offs to inspiring personal challenges, raising over £14,500 so far. And alongside this, Simon has trained to become a Childline counsellor and volunteers every Wednesday evening. Thank you LMA recruitment, we salute you! 💚

This Mental Health Awareness Week (13 to 19 May), the NSPCC is shining a spotlight on a new free service in Croydon which helps children and young people deal with any problems affecting their happiness or wellbeing.
Positive Pathways is designed to help boys and girls aged seven to 18 solve their problems and worries by building their confidence, skills, strength and resilience so they can cope with them now and in the future. For more information, watch this video of Peter Swan, an NSPCC Children's Services Practitioner, who delivers the service at the Croydon centre. #mentalhealthawarenessweek

Welcome to the world, baby Mountbatten-Windsor! 💚 During your child's earliest years, their brain makes 1 million neural connections every single second. Positive, supportive experiences with parents and other adults are important to their brain development. We recently launched 'Look, Say, Sing, Play' to help parents have higher quality interactions with their baby. You can sign up for 'brain-building' tips to incorporate into your daily routine here: www.nspcc.org.uk/look-say-sing-play

Our Fundraising team stumbled across this piece of vintage NSPCC memorabilia and it got us thinking - what old NSPCC items do you have in your collections? Post pictures in the comments!

A big thank you to Glen Jones who ran this year's Virgin Money London Marathon in aid of the NSPCC. The dad of two, from East Cowes on the Isle of Wight, crossed the finish line in 3hrs, 59mins and 20 secs. Whilst many runners will no doubt be taking it easy for the next few days, there’s not much time for Glen to rest up as he will be pulling on his running shoes once again for the APB Southampton Marathon this Sunday (5 May). Glen has set himself the epic challenge of running one marathon a month throughout 2019 and aims to raise £2,200 for the NSPCC. We wish him all the best!

More than 1,000 people in north-west London – from toddlers through to senior citizens – joined the BAPS Annual Challenge on Sunday 28 April 2019.
The charity Challenge organised by BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) brought together more than 3,000 enthusiastic participants from towns and cities across the UK for a fun and healthy way to raise money for the NSPCC and local charities

Huge congratulations to all those who took part in the Virgin Money London Marathon this weekend, including the team of 500 NSPCC runners who have already raised over £1million, which could answer 250,000 contacts to Childline. We couldn't do what we do without you. 💚 If you're feeling inspired, the 2020 ballot is now open until 5pm on Friday 3rd May - it may be your lucky year! 🏅✨https://www.virginmoneylondonmarat hon.com/…/h…/ballot-entry/

Best of luck to all our London Marathon runners this weekend, including Mighty Mike from LMA Recruitment, who started running only last year. What a fantastic thing to do for children who need our help - we think you are all champions! :) 💚🏆

Did you know Sussex County FA has become the country’s first governing body of grassroots football to display Childline advertising boards at the edge of its pitch as part of its ongoing safeguarding work?
Fitted at either end of the ground, the two boards serve as a reminder to children and young people who play or watch matches at the stadium in Culver Road, Lancing, that the free NSPCC service is a place they can turn to with any issues or worries they have both on and off... the pitch.
Children and young people can speak to specially trained Childline counsellors, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by calling 0800 1111. An online chat service is also available via the website www.childline.org.uk Adults concerned about a child or a young person can call the NSPCC Helpline on 0808 800 5000. Information is also available on the NSPCC website.

💚 Thank you to All Clear Sussex for all their fantastic support, having now raised over £13,000 for the NSPCC. You can drop in and see them every Sunday at the Brighton marina giantcarboot and grab a bargain whilst helping raise funds for the NSPCC! ✨

If you live on the Isle of Wight and are planning to spring clean your home over the Easter break please don't throw away your unwanted items. Instead drop them off at the NSPCC's charity shop based at 10 Shooters Hill, Cowes. The money raised through the sale of the goods will help fund NSPCC services such as its Speak out Stay safe programme. Donations can include clothes, toys, shoes, chinaware, jewellery – basically anything that is no longer needed or wanted. To find out more about other ways to fundraise for the NSPCC click on the link below.
