Nulco Newcastle Under Lyme Community Orchestra

Community orchestra open to musicians of any age and ability. NO AUDITION REQUIRED. Meet Wednesday evenings 7: 30pm at Holy Trinity Community Centre, London Road, Newcastle-under-Lyme.

NULCO is new to 2016. Set up by founder & music director Thomas Coxon . TME at Newcastle Methodist Church.

The group first started rehearsing at the end of February 2016. It started with a small hand full of players who just wanted to play music. over time it saw new members come and go with around 15 regular members, Members of the group ranged from students to mums to teachers who all came to socialise and make music together one evening a week.

The first performance was put on on Wednesday 7th June 2016 in which the group performed a number of movie classics. They had support from BBC Radio Stoke who did numerous interviews for them along with blogs and other local businesses spreading the work through social media and their shops. The show was a great success and even saw extra talent from the members with solos and duets.

Wednesday 7th December 2016 saw NULCO's first annual christmas extravaganza. a great success with a bigger audience of 70 + . It saw NULCO members showing their talent with a showcase of solos, duets and ensembles. it also brought enjoyment to the audience with audience participation in songs and carols. over all a great end to NULCOs first year.

The end of the first year saw NULCO performing in front of 1, 000 people at the Kings Hall Stoke, for BBC Radio Stoke's 'Carols for Christmas'. It was a spectacular evening and a great way for the group to end the yet!
