York based hypnobirthing and antenatal courses

We are a York based company run by two qualified members of the Hypnobirthing Association, one of which is a qualified midwife and the other a breastfeeding counsellor.

We offer antenatal classes which run over four Wednesdays every month and hypnobirthing courses which run over two Sundays each month; we will also be offering a health in pregnancy class for early pregnancy.

To ensure we remain flexible, our courses go ahead even if we only have one woman /couple who book. We can also provide bespoke private courses which can be run at our centre or in the comfort of your own home if you wish – ask for more details.

We believe that birth is a normal experience driven by thousands of years of evolution. Fundamental to the success of this process is the release of essential hormones including our best friend, oxytocin. Providing information on how to encourage the production of these hormones that contribute to a normal birth experience underpins our philosophy and course delivery.

Equally, we recognise that occasionally even in nature things can go wrong so our antenatal classes also seek to help you better understand the reality of 21st century birth; this better prepares you to accept medical support when needed.
