Nurtured Baby - Baby Massage Wokingham

Learn baby massage in a warm and supportive home environment. Nurturing touch strengthens your bond with your baby and helps develop their full potential.

I did baby massage with my two children and found it such a lovely experience. It really helped relieve my son's wind problems (meaning I got more sleep! ) and with my youngest daughter, it was a very special time we could spend together when my son was at nursery. They still enjoy adapted massage now they are toddlers. I previously worked as a Clinical Psychologist and have retrained in IAIM baby massage because I have experienced both personally and professionally the positive benefits of interventions that support mother-baby communication and bonding. The IAIM baby massage course draws from both the Indian and Swedish massage traditions, as well as incorporating principles from yoga and reflexology (www. iaim.org. uk). It is accredited by the Royal College of Midwives.

Benefits of Baby massage can include:
- Relief from wind, colic, constipation & teething discomfort
- increased levels of relaxation and improved sleep (for baby and mother! ! ! )
- increased confidence in your ability to understand your babies non-verbal cues and communication
- enhanced mother-baby bonding

Classes are run over 5 weeks and provide an opportunity to meet other mums and their babies. Together you will spend precious time with your baby learning a new skill that can be adapted to your growing child. Time is given for parents to share stories, worries, tips and advice in a friendly and supportive group. These classes are also great fun and include the necessary tea /coffee & biscuits /cake to fuel sleep deprived new mums!

Courses are run on Tuesdays and Fridays for babies 0-12months.

Courses are run in my own home in Wokingham (near Loch Fyne, London Road) in a comfortable room with a log burner to keep babies nice and warm. Price includes a booklet of massage strokes and handouts, a bottle of massage oil & tea /coffee & biscuits /cake. I provide mats and cushions to sit on and all you need is your baby and a towel.

I can also run classes in your own home for groups of mums in Wokingham, Bracknell, Reading, Finchampstead, Crowthorne or other areas across Berkshire (host goes free if 5 or more mums) and 1: 1 classes.
