Hello and welcome to my page. 'Mum's The Word' runs antenatal and postnatal groups with a difference. They are different because I believe they give an unbiased rounded view of pregnancy and parenthood. The emphasis is on supporting parents in their decisions whether that be to have a natural water birth using hypnobirthing or an elective Cesarean, whether the parents decide to breastfeed or bottle feed, we will aim to give you all the information and help you need to make these decisions. Each course runs for 6 weeks, for 2 hours every Friday morning 10am-12pm for postnatal groups and 1pm - 3pm on Saturdays for antenatal groups. Its a chance to make friends with other mums and mums to be in your local area in a home from home environment with plenty of tea and cake.
The courses are held at my house in Woodford Green. My name is Naomi and not only am I mum to 3 lovely boys but i'm also a qualified Nursery Nurse and Nanny with over 12 years experience. Additionally, I have studied Nursing and Midwifery
Every week in the group, we will discuss a different topic, for instance a baby sleep specialist who can advise on establishing good sleep routines, a homeopath who can advise on different remedies during pregnancy and for your baby, a first aid course specifically designed for new mums and their children, a Hypnobirthing teacher, a baby massage specialist who will teach ways to help ease colic and trapped wind, plus more discussions and special guests to come. . . .
I feel there is a gap in the market for these groups especially as the NHS have cut back on their antenatal classes and the only other option seems to be NCT which isn't suitable for everyone.

A course includes 6 two hour groups with guest speakers, tea /coffee /juice and cake, babies up to 6 months for the postnatal group and toys /bounce chairs, play gyms to entertain the babies, a parking permit and email /telephone support from other mums. Partners welcome at antenatal classes
Groups are limited to 8 places
Each 6 week course costs £70 payable by bank transfer or cash
