Oakwood Table Table

We have so far had breakfast and dinner, both have been excellent, we'll prepared and well presented by very friendly and efficient staff.

Just celebrated my 60th Birthday. There was 28 guests and we had the conservatory/ India area . The staff bent over backwards to make my day really special . The carvery was superb and everyone enjoyed their food. Our host for the day was Laura who I believe is the Assistant Manager . She really went the extra mile . Thankyou

Had a meal here last night with friends. Food was excellent - as always, and I've been here often - service was excellent too. Served by Laura who is the perfect hostess. The wait for food wasn't long either despite there being two large parties. Happy to recommend Oakwood to everyone and am very glad a friend introduced me to this lovely restaurant a couple of years ago.

Excellent food and service and a very warm welcome every time we come here. And lovely and close too. Very highly recommended �

Massive lake in the middle of the car park due to downpour, which the staff apologied for. Really!!

We couldn't fault the food at all, and the Sunday Carvery what we had, was such good value £10.99 for two courses. But the service was so slow, and the restaurant was even busy. Such a shame. Waited over half an hour for ice cream??? Won't be going again due to the slow service, like I said the food was really lovely.

A repeat customer. Always have good service, with a good choice of food. Loyalty scheme provides numerous promotions and discounts, which makes it excellent value too. Ben - The Manager - can't do enough for you and is always polite but friendly. Nice to see a Manager who gets stuck in, especially if the restaurant is busy or staff are off sick. Keep up the good work! We will be back soon!

Not enough staff I was told the Longford was closed maybe they were busier than usual. Went to lunch about 17 of us lunches were all pre ordered but it was muddled. I had my lunch ok but others were kept waiting.

Had Christmas lunch yesterday and the excuse was "it's not the kitchen it's taking time to turn the tables" 40 minutes late being seated.



The waiter however was polite and the Christmas dinner was nice.

Well Wow what can I say tried to have a meal there tonight only to be turned away due to three tables being in use and your hostess replying your fully booked 6.30pm well just to let you guys know we managed to eat a meal at the pub just up the road from you it's Called THE NEW DAWN the old kings Head all I can say top food, top hostess and a lovely atmosphere. We were completed within an hour and yes they were busy as well .





Unlike the journey home when we went past your pub as your car park wasnt busy

This evening was the worse meal here, normally the meals are pretty good, but tonight was not their best night. If anyone has watched national lampoons Christmas vacation then you will know what I mean about the turkey being served, but this tonight was chicken and had the same look. Will continue going but for Christ sake clean the place up and serve better meals!!

What can I say I booked here for my husbands 65th birthday meal.

A complete disaster had no idea of my booking considering I booked it 7 weeks ago . I even went in on the 3rd June with a pre order of meals as we had a big party but , Then was told on the evening they could not find the list of pre ordered meals . But they managed to except a cake !!!!! Slightly confused. This was a complete management negligence and lack of communication , the manager who dealt with us gave us all free drinks and 50% of all our food he was very embarrassed �. It was a good night in the end but this place seriously needs lots of improvements.

Better management .

More communication is a must and more staff as they was all run ragged.

Walked in to have dinner waiting to be seated when a gentleman ? Behind the bar started using the F word rather liberally my husband asked him politely to mind his language and we were told to F***Off we walked out will never visit that place again disgusting

Ultimate burger with chips for me and the Mrs took 1/2 hour to come out... cold chips over cooked dry burger burnt onions limp brown salad shocking for £24 wouldn’t rate this place!!!

Turned up , shown to a table - good start. Then it went downhill. Drinks arrived in filthy glasses and smelt stale. Went to bar to get 2 more glasses. They were filthy got 2 more slightly better. Waited 30 minutes to order food then when the waiter did come into our area he tried to take someone else’s order that had just walked in. So after another 30 minutes the food arrive. Very dry chicken, ribs burnt. Chips looked like they had been under the heater for most of the day. Peas the same Asked for ketchup. Still hasn’t arrived Partners food was ok but literally just ok. Let’s pay and get out of here. Terrible food and service. I wouldn’t mind but they aren’t even busy.

Have just left absolutely furious that we had to pay as much as we did for food! The service was half hearted and like the waiter couldn't be bothered! We waited over 30 minutes for food that had clearly been left on a hot plate for at least 25. My children's dinners were inedible apart from the baked beans. Their chicken had been left so long it'd had gone rock hard and rubbery on the inside. Mine and my husbands burgers were served on a bed of brown turning rotten lettuce and the fries were cold. All of which we would've felt like we could've complained about had the staff been approachable and not so unhappy about doing their job. And yet when asked if the meals were okay and we said 'not really, but we don't want to cause a fuss' the waiter just hovered for ten awkward seconds and disappeared without so much as asking why they weren't okay. Not wanting to cause a fuss didn't mean we were happy to eat the bag of garbage you've served us and not discreetly inform you of what we didn't enjoy. With two young hungry children at dinner time we couldn't exactly up and leave at rush hour so we had to share what was half decent between our two children and myself and my husband go hungry.

Garden was overgrown and very untidy

No sun shades for the tables,and both seats and tables were dirty and covered with bird poo

Awful experience, questioned by the manager when I purchased alcohol even though I presented her with I.d, rude attitude towards party, didn't feel welcome, manager was not offering to seat party just offered a refund on drinks, was not apologetic. Worst experience at a pub I can see why it is empty

Absolutely shocking service. 3 hours we were in here for and it was empty so no excuse for such slack service. We had to keep constantly asking for our food orders and drinks. Food was crap too to be honest. Never visiting again.
