We have tried many Beefeaters and this is the best one. Good food and friendly staff. We enjoy the whole experience when we go there.

Visited today for lunch. We sat in the bar area and were served by John. Must say we were very impressed on how polite and good at his job he was. He took time to explain things and offered us a reward card. Its staff like John that will make us return in the future he is a credit to your branch. Everyone is alway quick to make complaints & we very rarely give praise when its due but in this case we had to let everyone know how good he was & friendly.

This was my first time. Food was great and service was great. I love the nachos and the seabass was yummy. The broccoli was a little undercooked but I still loved the meal x will definitely come back. Thanks

My wife and I visited yesterday on the way back from a shopping trip and ordered from the all day cheaper menu where you could add a starter or pudding for £2.79. I must say the tomato soup was delicious and piping hot. My wife had grilled chicken which she enjoyed. I had lasagne which although a ready meal was well cooked. We really enjoyed our visit and 2 meals consisting of a starter and main plus 2 drinks came to £28 which we both thought was good value. We shall definitely return.

My hubby and I went for lunch today and had the £5 saver menu! This offer is only on in January! I had the pizza and hubby had the meatball sandwich. My pizza was absolutely delicious, freshly made and a mouth watering topping! Hubby said his was lush, sauce had a slight heat, but not too much to take away the taste of the meatballs! Please please keep this menu!!!! This menu should be on all the time!

Have been dining here for 12 years, because it's very family friendly. Love it. We tried the tomahawk steak this week. Great novelty dish. Staff are always very friendly. Always get a table even when we chance it. Plus I love that you can swap chips for salad lol.

User

Enjoyed our meal all had something different, each one was hot and we'll presented, our waitress was Abbie D very friendly and helpful , we asked her to give our compliments to the chef who was Michael for a great meal, we can't wait to go Back

User

Despite being very busy, the food was excellent and served by a particularly friendly and helpful guy who couldn't do enough for us.

We ate in the bar because restaurant was full (my fault for not booking) and this was still comfortable and clean.

Very good all round and returning next week!

Recommend the Paprika Chicken and Rump Steak.

We eat here on a regular basis and enjoy it very much . The food is always good , service is very pleasant and they always fit us in if we haven't booked . One small complaint from last night , we both ordered steaks and were asked how we wanted them cooked . When they arrived we were asked if we wanted sauces , my wife wanted a peppercorn sauce and I just wanted ketchup. The peppercorn had to be freshly prepared so took ten minutes to arrive by which time I had nearly finished mine ( minus ketchup ) and my wife's dinner was getting cold . Simple remedy , the waitress asks when taking your order not after the meal is delivered.

User

No room in the restaurant had to eat in the bar which we where happy with but was cold

Food was good, how ever I struggle to grasp the bottomless chips concept as staff never checked if we needed anything so had to go to the bar to ask for more,

But In all fairness can’t fault the oast and the staff always are accommodating and the manager ( think he is) always meets people at the door and does his best to please jolly & friendly guy that he is

Oh and not forgetting Nat she does a great job too

User

Couldn’t get in the restaurant so ate in the Bar which was ok actually x The food was lovely we were still well looked after x I am gluten Free and it was so nice to actually get a menu and not a big fat book that the writing is so tiny you can’t read it x I definitely eat there again x

User

A regular haunt for us. Good food good staff. Only two niggles, the new menu states to ask for the NEW gluten free menu if required - only to find its the same old ring binder to pour through, and didn’t get the switch to sweet potato fries we asked for; however, was really busy due to Mother’s Day so the latter was understandable.

User

Went there to watch the World Cup football England Vs Sweden. To my disappointment they had made no effort for the punters. Typical of these big chain pubs. No community spirit and sense of community pride.

We visited for lunch on Thursday 26th October. We arived at 12pm as it opened. We were a party of eight. We ordered our food which arrived fairly quickly and it was quite good. However once we had finished, our dirty plates weren't cleared away. Even when we ordered a sweet the staff bought our food they still didn't clear the table. There were three staff members behind the bar with not much to do as the restaurant wasn't busy. If we ever return to Fareham we wouldn't rush back here.

User

Restaurant was pretty quiet. Initial waitress was very keen to take our order before we had even sat down. Asked if we could how a minute to look at menu & she was literally 1 minute to return. Took drink & food order immediately. Food took a good 30mins to arrive. As did the puddings. Looking around the restaurant it was the same for other diners, waiting for meals.

Food had good flavour but small portions for the price. Meal for 2 & 1 drink each was over £60. Nice food but not great value due to slow service & small portions. We had 4 different servers during our meal. So not really personal either. Maybe they were short staffed in the kitchen.

User

Not too happy with the food. Ordered a half chicken Sunday roast and was informed that there were no half chickens left and it would be a breast and still the same price. I acknowledged this and went ahead. I was surprised at the portion size, when it did arrive. A teaspoon full of root mash (at most), no Yorkshire pudding on any of the meals (as advertised on the menus). Basically my main was the same portion size as my daughters child’s menus but at double the price (the only difference was my chicken was not sliced for me). The chicken Breast (if that’s what it was) was flattened to take up more space on the plate and obviously the griddle it was cooked on hadn’t been cleaned for a while leaving lots of black flecks over the plate. I could go on but feel I have made my point.

User

All three steaks were tough and sinew, mash potato was mashed to being very gloopy and hard to swallow. service slow and portions very a-la-carte size. Not too impressed.

User

I I took my grandchildren for end of term dinner we had to wait for ever for the food to come out and when it did it was cold there was no fish in the batter had to send my food back it was dreadful the children eat there’s because they where hungry .wll not be going back again

Simple remedy , the waitress asks when taking your order not after the meal is delivered.

Couldn’t get in the restaurant so ate in the Bar which was ok actually x The food was lovely we were still well looked after x I am gluten Free and it was so nice to actually get a menu and not a big fat book that the writing is so tiny you can’t read it x I definitely eat there again x

All three steaks were tough and sinew, mash potato was mashed to being very gloopy and hard to swallow. service slow and portions very a-la-carte size. Not too impressed.
