Yet again 5* service from this wonderful company.

Delivery was on time.

1 substitution, which was changed for exactly the correct quantity/items.

Driver was friendly and helpful.

Products all perfect.

Love this company they never fail to deliver (excuse the pun!)

Have been using this company for years and very unlikely to change.

Thank you Ocado for a top service that saves me time and effort - every time

User

So I’ve shopped with Ocado for over 10 years and am usually happy with the service received, however today’s delivery had 19 missing items (all different). Now these included milk, eggs, apples, veg, and meat! It’s meant that I’ve had to go and shop in our nearest supermarket which I’m sure you’ll agree defeats the purpose of on-line grocery shopping.

Really Ocado this is not good enough....especially considering you’ve recently one an award for your service, not good at all!

User

In the 6 or 7 years I've been ordering from you I can count on 1 hand the number of times there have been any problems of note and I would have considered the service to be excellent but in the last few months your service has deteriorated considerably. I've had 2 extremely late deliveries within the last couple of months as opposed to just 1 in the entire rest of those 6 or 7 years and in the the last 3 weeks alone I've twice had missing items and substitutions so numerous you felt the need to direct me to the website to find out what they were rather than mention them in the notification text. Not to mention the sheer amounts of my regular items that seem to be frequently out of stock lately when I'm putting my order together and the amount of items you seem to have just stopped selling with no explanation. It's incredibly annoying. Also I wish you'd put a little more thought into substitutions when it comes to things like pack size/weight and purchase history. If I order a 2kg pack of something every week and it's necessary to substitute it then at least substitute it with equal weight, for example 2 x 1kg bags and not a single 1kg bag. Similarly one look at my purchase history will tell you I only by diet & zero sugar fizzy drinks, this is because I'm diabetic. This week however a crate of 24 Pepsi max cherry was substituted for 24 'full fat' cherry coke that only my husband can drink. I mean really, would it have that difficult to some other diet/max/zero drink that appears in my purchase history already.

User

I started to use Ocado as I now have 3 kids under 5. I really wanted to free up time. This is the first online shop I have used for groceries so can't yet compare to others. I have placed about 5 orders so far. For at least 3 of them they have been over 30 mins late and only contacted me after the time slot finished to warm me. I can't understand why they give a 1 hr time slot if they can't manage it? Really stressful for me and disappointing that they are consistently late!

User

Hey Ocado! I've had great grocery delivery experiences through your company, but I don't like having a delivery driver slow his van down on a quiet residential street just to beep and yell at me "hot stuff." It's not fun to have men attempt to intimidate you like that, plus it's also 2018, and that kind of behaviour is a bit boring now. Perhaps you should train your drivers to not harass people, especially whilst they're using company vehicles? It takes a special kind of stupid to do the latter, non?

Many thanks,

A female who has had enough.

User

Disappointed with Ocado for lack of communication when they run behind schedule. Learn from customer advice, and out of curtosy call the customers so they don't have to spend all day in wondering when you will be delivering their food shop. All well and good sending text messages early morning to say our delivery may not be delivered during our selected slot time, but then nothing further - thanks Ocado, you've let yourself down again in poor customer service!!

User

Service has been appalling recently. Many items out of stock then when it does arrive missing items and no subs. Today I am still sat here waiting for my 12-1pm delivery, no contact from Ocado until I call them to be told it should be here by 3! Ocado is supposed to be a premium delivery service but has rapidly gone downhill.

User

Received my first order yesterday only to realise that 30 cans of zero box that I order had 3 cans that were leaking plus the 2 packets of chicken breast I order had the use by date 6 July on them I received my order at 8pm so what a waste no common sense a tall I did email your customer service and received nothing back really unhappy with this service.

User

Rang customer service, telling them I ordered mice meat on my last shop, gone to use it today and its rotten, but still had a few days left on the use by date. The person in customer service, didn't really care. I have now decided to shop at a different supermarket. Sick of rotten food. Bye Ocado

User

Ocado driver apparently “couldn’t find” the cottage I am renting - I found it easily a few hours earlier and I’m from 160 miles away. So my order has been cancelled. All the shopping for a week’s holiday. And it’s a 7 hour drive to nearest supermarket. And I have kids here with nothing to eat. I called customer services but driver wouldn’t return. Appalling.

User

Not very impressed Ocado! People order a weekly shop because they don’t have any food in.... waited in Monday night for you to cancel my order at the time it was supposed to be delivered. Spoke to customer services who gave me £10 by email and re arranged the order for tonight between 6-9 I’ve sat in again tonight with no proper food and guess what no shopping appears! No call no email nothing! So I ring you and oh it’s been cancelled! Thanks for letting me know! Nearly 10pm and I’m gonna have to go food shopping I just hope you haven’t taken the money from my bank for the food I haven’t received!

User

Left out a birthday cake from my order with no substitute. Understandably, there may be issues in the supply chain, but to leave out a birthday cake without any suggestion of a substitution is not acceptable. The person who packed the order must have realised that this was an important item.

It’s my son’s birthday party tomorrow and I was relying on your company to deliver the cake as promised. This cake was the reason I placed the order. I now have a very upset child and no cake for my guests. I’m really, really disappointed with the service from Ocado - an absolute let down.

User

Just had our delivery cancelled by the driver, saying he couldn’t find our address, the same address they’ve been delivering to for years, every Saturday. He called once but we missed it. We called him back several times after 6 minutes but he didn’t answer, so left a voicemail, no response. Called customer service to ask them to send him back only to be told they can’t get hold of him, their driver, the only face of Ocado we see. He cancelled our delivery 30 minutes inside our delivery slot, how far away could he have been???

Unbelievable

User

I was expecting a home delivery today but the driver didn't ring the bell and deliberately and nonchalantly drove off then i got sent a message that they couldn't reach me at all while i was waiting for him at home. If you don't ring the bell, don't expect that somebody will come to you laying out a red carpet. This is appalling. Every time there's an issue and now i have to reschedule my whole day and cancel two appointments. I want a full refund.

User

I received an email saying if I sign up to Ocado Reserved and get 3 consecutive weekly deliveries I will receive a £20 voucher. I sign up and as it happens I had 4 consecutive weekly deliveries.

I go on holiday for 2 weeks and right at the beginning I receive an email with the voucher. By the time I return and check my emails the voucher has expired. I email Customer Service asking for an extension or new voucher. Ocado says “sorry, nothing we can do, here is a £5 voucher as a gesture”

Do you really think that is fair? Ocado are penalising me for going on a family holiday.

I will be telling everyone I know to avoid Ocado if this is how they treat customers. I have spent thousands of pounds with Ocado over the last couple of years and the best they do is send me a £5??

They have lost a very good customer.

User

I never leave reviews but honestly, please steer clear- somethings clearly up with Ocado as they appear to have adopted sharp practices.

My story as follows: my daughter was at home today from 1600 and I had a delivery booked between 1800-1900. Having got home at 1806 (sad, but I caught a glimpse of the car clock as I got out) and with my daughter saying there'd been no sign of the delivery driver, I started to get on with my evening. I randomly checked me email at around 1820 to see a note from Ocado at 1805 advising they'd tried to deliver my order, no one was in, and I'll now be charged for all perishable items!

Many calls later and having finally established the driver wouldn't be returning, I had a call back from someone in Ocados 'management team' whilst I was in the car park of Tescos (having spent over an hour shopping, as we had nothing) to be told the actual charge would be £62 for perishable items. Apparently the drivers GPS showed he was outside my property until 1820. When I challenged the manager to say that was physically / factually impossible I was then told, "well they don't have to wait anyway". Wow, just wow.

Result? Account closed, credit card company contacted and intention to dispute registered and zero chance of ever placing an order with Ocado again. Nice one Ocado.

User

I have been sat in waiting for a food shop which should have been delivered between 12:30-1:30 with a screaming too hot 6 month old unable to go out and I have ended up calling customer services who tells me there is a technical problem and I'm not getting my order!! I had no email, no text and no phone call. It's my son's birthday tea tonight and now I have nothing to feed the children!!! All we were offered was a Rebook for tomorrow evening between 9-10PM and a £20 voucher! We used a 30%off voucher because it's the first shop so we won't be getting that back either!! Absolute joke.

User

First one star review I've ever given anyone. But....

I've now shopped online from Ocado five times. On two of those occasions, a box of 24 cans of Diet Pepsi has not been sent and not been substituted. I have twice written to customer services to complain. To say that there must be a substitution, either three sets of eight cans, four sets of six, Diet Coke, anything. To send nothing is ridiculous and meant that I have had to visit the local supermarket, which is what I want to avoid by ordering online. Both responses from Ocado Customer Services have been ludicrous. This is the most recent reply:

we order our products fresh into our warehouses in order for customers to receive the freshest food possible and to also to eliminate food wastage across our company. Our substitutions are selected from any extra food and products that we receive from our suppliers in the morning. So if we do not have a substitution available, it is because we did not have any other item suitable in the warehouse to offer you.

This is a standard reply just cut and pasted into my email as it is simply not possible that there was no item in the warehouse suitable to replace it. I would have expected a reply saying that there is clearly a glitch in the substitution system and they will look into it.

The lack of a substitution is annoying, the totally rubbish response to my email complaint gets you one star.

User

By far the worst delivery service I have ever experienced. The customer service representatives are nice and say they are doing all these things to correct the delivery that never showed up...but then nothing actually happens. In fact, it makes it worse!

I placed an order to come between 12pm and 1pm yesterday. At 12:03 we received an email saying that no one answered. I had been sitting 10 ft away from our buzzer all day. No one came! We had ordered some water, and my guess is that the guy did not want to carry it. They say they called, and tried to reach us....all within those two minutes prior to sending out that email I guess. They obviously never even tried to deliver. So after being on the phone and getting a bunch of “we are trying to reach the driver, see if he will come back” with me waiting around for hours, nothing happened. They apologized and said they would schedule it for redelivery from 9am-12pm the next day. Well, not shockingly, I waited for 3 hours, and nothing came. I called and informed me that a technical error had occurred and my delivery never went out. They said we should have received an email, but they admitted they even messed up on that and did not try to contact me. Most of my order was for my baby, so now I’m scrambling trying to figure out what to do for her, let alone myself. If there is one thing worse then poor customer service, it’s customer service that masquerades as attempting to help, but making it somehow worse in the process. I am from the states, and I am pretty sure they would go out of business there pretty quickly. Sure, I have had mistakes made from delivery companies before, but they fixed it, and fixed it quickly. This company just apologizes, and does nothing to make the situation right.

The sad thing is, the first order worked out fine, and the young man delivering was polite, I even gave him a good tip because of the water. But 50% is still a failing grade for a company.
