one of our favourite places. Always a relaxing treat..whether staying, eating or just at the spa. The hotel is an old mansion house and offers quirky but always comfortable rooms and with an ultra modern spa centre with lovely grounds. No it probably isn't the cheapest but then it's about service, environment and relaxation..we got married there and have never been disappointed on four frequent returns

We attended a fabulous event at the weekend, organised by the lovely wedding planner, Anouska. The event ran very smoothly and all the staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive.

The food was excellent, top quality and the wine selection was very good.

We stayed overnight and were more than happy with our spacious room with a very comfortable 4-poster bed. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and nothing was too much trouble for anyone.

Would highly recommend for a function, wedding, overnight stay or spa-break.

User

Was bought a package as a birthday present which included an evening meal, overnight stay, breakfast and use of the spa.

We were given an upgrade to the Master suite which was incredible! It was spacious, comfortable, clean and tidy and full of character.

We arrived on Friday evening and managed to make the most of the beautiful spa facilities and on a hot August evening was able to cool down in the outdoor pool then sit on the sun loungers soaking up the sun.

We had some nachos as a snack which were a sign of the quality we could expect from the rest of our stay.

We had a pre dinner gin and tonic (recommend the Brilliant Gin) sitting in the spacious outside area of the hotel which was quiet and relaxing.

We were brought dinner menus to salivate upon and the seemingly endless wine list whilst enjoying our drinks before being taken into the restaurant. There was a lovely atmosphere which was relaxed and the fact mobile phones aren’t allowed in the restaurant really makes it a much more sociable place. The dinner was exceptional and the wine delicious.

In the morning we had prebooked a ho-leaf and rosemary muscle melt which was the best massage I have ever had. The masseuse was caring and happy, explaining the treatment prior to engaging.

All in all the staff were attentive, thoughtful and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We will definitely be coming back and thank you for making it such a memorable stay!

User

The spa is great, I had a full body massage which was fab and used the jacuzzis , the pools and the steam room. All excellent, the water was excellent temperature nice warm perfect to enjoy. Free water, coffee and tea on arrival. Visited on Friday, pool busy until 11am and afterwards hardly anybody. Absolute heaven!

User

The perfect place to spend my 40th Birthday yesterday. I have enjoyed every minute and am leaving feeling relaxed and revitalised!

User

The perfect combination of traditional country house and cool contemporary spa. Calm, soothing, perfect, professional staff. What a total delight. Every single person, from chambermaid, spa staff, wine waiter (wow what knowledge) restaurant team, checkin and checkout, were fantastic. Our huge room was amazing, a spa suite with sublime countryside views, a roof terrace and sitting area. Just blissfully relaxing, I felt so spoiled. Thank you so much. The food is beautifully presented, the cocktails perfect. I can't wait to return! Anyone feeling overworked, or stressed out needs to come here, tranquility and well being will be restored.

User

Second time here for a mother/daughter spa overnighter. Blown away again by the helpful friendly staff. From reception to restaurant to spa - they can’t do enough to ensure you have a wonderful time. The facilities, food and treatments are top notch too. Can’t recommend enough.

User

My partner and I stayed here overnight for our one year anniversary. The hotel was lovely, the staff were great, and the spa was incredible. The hot shell massage is amazing!

We had breakfast in the hotel but I would recommend The Talbot just down the road for dinner.

We will be retuning!

User

I had a lovely time at Ockenden Manor Spa last week. I had an amazing facial and massage from the lovely Jessica, thank you so much, really didn't want my treatments to end! It was a weekday, so the spa area itself was really nice and quiet and I actually had the sauna and steam room all to myself which was brilliant. Can highly recommend this spa for a little pamper session! Only piece of advice to the management, it'd be great to have some lighting out in the car park as it was very dark and I stepped into a huge puddle when getting into my car... whoops :)

User

Came here for a date night and Stayed overnight stay about a year ago. Such a beautiful place, staff were wonderful very helpful. Place was so calm and relaxing. The spa was the highlight for me, sitting in the outside hot tub, with the stars in the sky. Sipping champagne. Beautiful settings. Perfect

User

A truely great place to escape and relax, the staff are very polite and attentive. Spa is well equipped, food is divine and rooms cosy. Will be going back again and again

User

I treated my friend to afternoon tea 27/01/2018. The staff were very lovely - warm, friendly, accommodating and efficient. The tea was delicious - tasty sandwiches, fluffy scones to die for and scrummy cakes and petit fours. The venue charming oldly worldly, warm cosy and immaculately clean. A minor positive criticism would be to have more of a selection on the ‘fizz’ front as £14.00 for a champagne flute is a little dear for an afternoon tea event. I would fully recommend to others and will definitely look to try out the spa in the near future. We had a lovely afternoon - and I extend my thanks to the fantastic staff team.

User

As ever the Spa is fantastic in terms of the design and tranquility.

What keeps the Spa from getting 5 stars is maintenance and the staff. For example despite it supposing to close at 21:30 cleaning occurs before this time. Also reception is never good in terms of recognition with staff being in the office rather than at the front desk.

I travel a lot and see Spas all around the world. More needs to be done with the people and focusing on valuing and recognising your customers.

User

Amazing room and delicious food for our evening meal and breakfast at the hotel. Nothing too much trouble and service was fantastic.

Unfortunately the spa was a little disappointing; although the facilities were generally ok, the indoor jacuzzi was very small and the outdoor jacuzzi was broken meaning it was very difficult to get the chance to use this facility. There was no where to sit in between having a swim/sauna/steam room etc. So felt a little awkward having to “loiter” and not able to relax properly. There simply wasn’t enough places to sit down and rest/relax so we ended up leaving earlier than what we would have liked.

It’s also not ideal to have screaming, shouting children in the pool when you’re trying to “relax”.... shame really as I thought that’s what going to a spa should be about and sadly it wasn’t that relaxing at all!

User

The staff where lovely and the working facilities nice but the sauna wasn't working or the indoor jacuzzi. There was some sort of ice thing but no instructions on what it was for, drinking or sticking your hands in. Also the coffee machine wasn't fully working. Ran out of glasses in the "relaxation" room which had no music and wasn't relaxing at all. Some massage chairs wouldn't go amiss. For the price charged I expect everything to be working and spot on. I also cut my bum in the outside jacuzzi as the stairs are sharp on the corners which you can't see for the bubbles, corners should be rounded off for safety.

User

I had a great afternoon with my daughter yesterday.. We like to do these things when my daughter comes over from Hong Kong prior to our facial we had a area to relax unfortunately I didn't relax as I should it was like a sauna and I did hear people going out 'now that was a bit too hot!!. My beauty therapist was Shannon I have to admit it was one of the best facials I've ever had..we then finished at the manor house where we felt we had a very memorable experience attentive service nothing too much trouble even providing a box for my scone to take home which I would go back just for those..

User

Myself and my partner stayed with you from the 9th to the 10th of December, I purchased a package that included bed and breakfast and also full use of the spa facilities with a £50 per person treatment voucher.

While it was nice to stay for the night there were a few issues in regards to the room and spa.

We stayed in room Lucy,

The room was very cold and there was a noticeable draught from the windows, upon closer inspection neither of the windows shut completely and although there were covers that pulled out and covered the windows this did not stop the draught from coming in. We turned the heating up in the room but this didn’t help overnight and for my partner it was a horrible as she was already suffering from a cold.

The spa was enjoyable but there was a real chill in the main and outdoor pool for this reason we did not go in. We asked the spa staff the reason and they said there was a problem with the temperature but it was unresolved that evening.

I felt the room where we were placed was a very awkward location, the reason is because of the restaurant and the constant traffic to and from the kitchen.

We like to stay at various spa hotels and have stayed at bailiffs court which was an unforgettable experience for us, unfortunately I cannot say the same for Ockenden Manor. Upon checkout we expressed our concerns and the receptionist wiped our spa fee of £35 on reflection we aren’t happy with this as it was supposed to be an evening of relaxation and a peaceful nights sleep instead it was a cold and windy night.

User

My massive rambling review is on trip advisor but there a more far better spas than this place , the spa needs painting and redecoration , it was dirty and hair all over the place tea and coffee facility area was unclean , and I had damage to my swimming costume which I have spoke to both managers and they fail to believe it had anything to do with the spa the fact I walked in with a perfect costume and then 30 mins later it was faded clearly from something wrong with the hot tub , not a sorry even though I've visited this place a fair few times not a gesture of good will just laying the blame with me and the fact my costume maybe isn't suitable for a swimming pool or hot tub I mean really WTF??? I will definitely not be returning EVER AGAIN!

User

*Took my mum here for an overnight package which included full use of the spa facilities with £25 per person towards a treatment, 3 course meal and breakfast*

Unfortunately, when we arrived we did not expect to juggle our luggage through several car parks to reach the spa seperate to the hotel. When we entered we were not able to use our vouchers due to the spa being fully booked (my mistake as was unaware you had to book in advance). We noticed that the pool areas inside and outside were VERY neglected (the outside jacuzzi sides were filthy black) and pools of water were left along walkways. We feel the spa needs a makeover or at least some decent maintenance!!!

When it was time to check in to our hotel room, our first experiences obviously did not lead us in good hope to what our room would be like and unfortunately we were correct - We stayed in Charlotte room which was absolutely filthy, there was dust and stickiness on everything you touched from the kettle to the furniture. Our lamp shades where hanging off the bulbs even to the point that one sparked so I turned it off at the main plug! The drawyers and wardrobe were falling apart, my bed sheet inparticular was stained something shocking which was also covered in dark black hairs and what looked like to be dogs hairs! There was a yellow substance all over my pillow case in big patches!

To pay over £250 with what was described as the most luxurious room in the hotel was an absolute insult!! At this point me and my mother had made the decision to try and enjoy our 3 course meal (which was the best part of the experience) and leave afterwards. We are grateful to the few colleagues at reception who said they would find us another room, however we had an absolute disaster of a day and had fully made our minds up. I was advised that the manager would be calling me today to discuss the complaints and as of yet I am still waiting (no surprises there!).

Absolutely disgusted with our visit and will definitely NOT be recommending to any of our friends!!!
