OTC is your online activity networking service, where switched-on coaches share their skills and talents with Off The Couchers! . . . from what started as an idea from a kite-surfing, web developing Aussie who wanted to sip sangria whilst learning Spanish on St Kilda Beach in Melbourne. His London-based Kiwi mate - a gym instructor from the age of 16; now turned data geek - loved the idea of a portal connecting people with activities and classes in their local area, and offered to help. The two set off on a brainstorming road-trip from London to Hamburg, via Amsterdam, and their activity networking concept began to evolve. They dreamed, not just of a dull website with generic contact info, but a hub which made it easier for instructors to share their passions. Let the gurus focus on what they are good at – teaching, creating, entertaining; and we'll take care of the bits they might find boring. It should be simple to set up a profile about the skill you want to share with the world, then share that profile with your friends and family, share it with your existing clients, and if they like what you do then get them to share with their friends and family; no more pavement pounding and flyer flogging. OTC has a community feel, where you can login and find relevant, local classes. Why search Google for yoga classes and have to sift through results from Vauxhall in New Jersey when you live in Vauxhall, London. . . and you certainly didn't mean to purchase a Vauxhall car! The vision is to provide a platform for communities to engage with each other – for cafes to connect with creative writing coaches, and offer their caffeine for creative writing courses, which in turn creates future customers. . . . and for the general public to try something new!
