Okehampton Tic

Run by volunteers at The Museum of Dartmoor Life the Okehampton TIC is there to help visitors and locals discover what is happening in our area

The Museum of Dartmoor Life hosts the Okehampton Tourist Information Centre at reception and we have accommodation information, local guides to attractions, advice about local walks, motorhome parking, caravan sites, historic monuments on Dartmoor as well as a wonderful Museum which tells the story of people who have lived on Dartmoor.

There is a small shop selling local maps, crafts, books, soaps, sweets, pickles, jams and other goods all made on Dartmoor. There are small gifts for children (books, games, gems etc), so you can take away a gift from Dartmoor.

There are a team of volunteers who man the Tourist Information desk, who are happy to share their extensive knowledge of the region of Dartmoor. If you are interested in joining the volunteers, please contact the Manager.

Across the courtyard there is a small tea room, run by a separate company, Victorian Tea Pantry. This is open different hours to the Museum and TIC.
