A new beer on the bar in the Shuffle series from our friends at Two Roses brewery. The hops are changed or “shuffled” this one featuring Barbe Rouge, Olicana and Palisade. The malts have also been changed with pale crystal to give a blonde beer rather than than the base pale ale brew. The beer has a fruity taste with hints of strawberry cherry and passion fruit which give way to a dry bitter finish with more stone fruit flavours.

Now on the bar. A 3.5% dark ruby beer with roasted notes and a smooth, creamy taste. Bittersweet and tasty, with hints of blackcurrant layered through soft, dark flavours of roasted malt. A favourite of lovers of a good mild. Especially popular in East Lancashire and loved as a guest further afield. One of the finest Dark Yorkshire Milds still in Independent production.

We called in last night and really enjoyed it, a lovely atmosphere with the log burner going, especially as it was very cold outside. Great choice in beers and I'm a g&t lover and their was a good choice of both gin and different tonics, the staff were lovely and friendly too, we will defffo be back again .

User

Spent most of the evening of New Year's Eve here, had a great time.Massive choice of ales available - comfortable and very good service considering the place was packed. Had some good banter with the staff - will definitely be coming back - a definite positive for the village.

User

Lovely place, fantastic choice of beer's and amazing gins

User

Just what Darton needed, lovely warm atmosphere and very friendly staff. Nice to have choices of different ciders instead of the run of the mill. Will certainly be visiting again and I also like the no children policy, lovely for grown ups

User

Just had a very entertaining sunday evening listening to the Booze Brothers, the staff were friendly, the beer is good, we will definitely be back for more, hic !! love it

User

I had a great time in there last night, live music and a lovely atmosphere :), refreshing on a Sunday evening, I will definitely be returning !

User

Have lived in Darton since 1993 and I think it's a great addition to the village - decent beers, welcoming staff. Whether I want to talk or just have a beer and watch the world go by. No TV, no piped music, no screaming kids. Recommended

User

Great little gem this. Good selection of ales and gins. Friendly staff and good service, in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. I will be visiting again soon.

User

Great boozer. All numpties giving 1 star reviews cos kids aren’t allowed. I’ve got a 3 year old and when this place opened I had the intelligence and foresight to message first to see if she was allowed in. They replied and told me no she isn’t and so that’s fine. Me and my wife come in a lot when we have a babysitter! Christ, it’s a proper ale house, there’s nothing for kids to enjoy anyway. Get a grip! It’s not a pub for kids!

User

Great ale house. Lots of choice for ales, ciders and gins. Warm and cosy with wood burner and friendly staff and they are very welcoming of dogs :)

User

Genuine atmosphere and a fine collection of the best of beers... a good impression of the grumpy landlord but we've seen through you.

Happy dogs. No screaming kids. What a great place.

User

Fantastic place. Great people, great beer and great atmosphere. Best of all, along with great beer, it is dog friendly. So nice to see 8 friendly doggy faces. Much better than out of control children running around and screaming! Great place, well done. Will recommend to my friends nationwide. Great addition to real ale scene!!!

We brought a blind friend in today, & she simply loved it!

CONGRATULATIONS!

User

Came in for a couple of afternoon pints (while visiting my parents). Great chat with Ian and even better beer (all well thought out and delicious). Can't recommend enough (the draft Belgian beers, salted caramel stout and ales brewed exclusively for this pub were highlights).

User

Absolutely brilliant little pub. I think it is excellent that children aren’t allowed and dogs are welcome. Exactly my kind of pub! The beer is delicious too We have a little gem of a place on our doorstep.

User

Had one in there last night, business meeting had a lovely drink. Selection of cider spot on would recommend the mango cider and of course you're venue of Atmosphere chilled great all round

User

Great place. Good beer and cider. No fuss, no gimmicks or piped music. Great little ale bar. We will definitely return, just wish we had this kind of bar in my village

User

First time visited Saturday night with my wife and we both loved it. As I've lived in the village for over 40 years it's nice to see a new place open instead of closing, we've seen two clubs and two pubs locally close so it's great to have a new choice and hopefully bring more atmosphere back into the village.

User

Well we have lived in the village all our lives and really want to give something back to this beautiful village. Today me and my husband and baby grandson of 5 months tried calling in for a very quick drink this afternoon, only to be greeted by the landlord Ian saying "Thats not allowed in here "...... That is our grandson of 5 months fast asleep, how the hell was he going to cause any problem given that there was 2 great big dogs sat there?????

What a joke!!!

We went here in December Xmas Eve with our Neice and Nephew age 12 and 13 if kids aren't allowed then how come they were allowed in Ian??

I work very close to the Coop and up today I have really supported this business but after today we will never darken your doors.

We are truly disgusted with your attitude today and you will never fit in to village life. Shameful I hope you're really pleased with yourself because there is far better pubs in our area.

User

Awful experience, very unfriendly staff & very argumentative. No advice or options given when ordering and we found the staff were very dismissive and aggressive, we were actually sworn at when we didn’t like what was given, we will never return again even though we are local and usually always like to promote local businesses. If you like rough pubs and zero manners then this is the place for you.
