Work starts well in advance for each new exhibition at the Old Low Light. Director Guy Moody and Trustees Nina and Linda are already preparing for our October exhibition on the abolition of slavery.

Sunday 30 June is the last official day to visit the art exhibition 'The Vanished World of the Tyneside Shipyards' at The Old Low Light Heritage Centre. Original drawings and paintings from 1969 to 2019 by shipyard worker/artist Peter Burns. Open until 5 pm. It's been a very popular exhibition and the closing date has already been extended twice! Last chance to see...don't miss the boat.

Volunteers Brian Wright and Henry Howard have worked hard to create our boat feature, now carefully filled with interesting plants, floral colour and wetland species. Why not come and enjoy the sun … or the occasional more moody lighting? If you have admired the view and walked beside the Tyne, then North Shields’ Old Low Light Heritage Centre is great to explore and relax with a cuppa. (Photo: 29 June 2019).

A really nice group of children at the Old Low Light Heritage Centre today, from King Edwards school.... such an enthusiastic group, a good advert for the school and their parents. Thoroughly enjoyed the day, and hope to see them again soon.

Shared from the North Shields Heritology Project page. Hope you enjoy this view from The Old Low Light Heritage Centre viewing platform. Why not come and enjoy it in person? With all the sights, sounds and smells (including the aroma of coffee in the café) of the North Shields Fish Quay thrown in too.
