Went of a family breakfast, never been there at that time of day before,but would definitely go back again, the food was good and the service very friendly, the cost for a family of 4 was great.would recommend going .

Pauline is wonderful, she has been there for over 20 yrs and still serves us with a smile, and recently Liam joined the staff. he is a fab chef and understands everything about allergies that some people need to use an epi pen for.

I'm never away at times as im a very busy person so it's easier just to eat out than to cook. Like all food places. It has its ups and downs. The food is lovely and the staff are friendly. It's a nice place to be. Have had a few issues like any food place. But if they can they will correct and sort out anything you have a problem with. So for that i give 5 stars X

I love this pub. I travel from colne to eat here at least once a week. Everything has improved over the last 3 months and now when you sit down with your food it looks just like it does on the pictures ’┐Įthe only thing for me is that the gravy can be too watery, but when I ask staff for thicker gravy they sort it out with no problem at all. 10/10 to the staff. A nice pub with a nice atmosphere and delicious food ’┐Į

Had a lovely carvery here tonight. Never been before but would definitely go back. Excellent value, food was really nice and service was very good too. No complaints!! 3 of us are and had a couple of drinks each. Spent just over ┬Ż22!!

Had a great tea here last night. Food was great the beef was to die for. The bar and flor staff very friendly nothing seemed like to much trouble. They even had one love manchester on in the bar. Great night and food will definatly go back.

Carvery is brilliant foods great I go at least 3 or times in a month n it good value for money

Good place to eat with the kids.. Nice food... Very busy so they ended up forgetting kids meal so they gave us a extra plate to help ourselves plus a refund ’┐Į ­¤¢Æ

Food was very average, limited selection for the carvery. Vegetarian option was a microwave meal!

The staff were very friendly and helpful on a positive note.

Unfortunately we didn't enjoy this at all..... All the meat (beef wasn't too bad) was incredibly dry, giant Yorkshire was like rubber, roasties were like cardboard and all the veg including the gravy was like water and didn't taste of much. So disappointed... Especially on Bank Holiday Monday really wished we had gone somewhere else.... On a more positive note the the ice-cream was OK, kids enjoyed that bit.

Just had a carvery at old mother red cap used to come here couple years ago and loved it, i came today there was one set of knife ans forks on the table to napkins, when ordering our food we was stood there for at least 10 mins before someone came out, looking at the meat there where scraps left not a variety atall, paying nearly ┬Ż10 a person i was dissapointed with the selection.. i will not be coming hear again

Walked to the counter to be greeted with 'we've no gravy the oven is broken" Since when has gravy been made in the oven? No appolgy or even time to tell her that we was even having carvery. Regret giving here a go and not going to the gamecock.

WELL... NO Sausage or Bacon ready for 10 mins, Egg wasn t ready either, when arrived, sausage was soggy, bacon undercooked, eggs snotty still. Hash browns had been sat for god knows how long. Fried bread was super crispy as had been sat for so long. Paid ┬Ż1.70 for unlimited coffee, had ONE coffee went to get another at 11.25 and everything had been packed away including the coffee machine even though supposed to be served until 11.30. Paid ┬Ż6 wouldnt reccomend to anyone avoid like the plague.

Unfortunately this is becoming the norm!!!! Meat that is chewy and fatty, no chips or roasties left at the end of the line, so sad, a bit more effort and this is value for money, I'm not gonna give it any more chances now sorry

Took the family last night and the only meat that was on offer was gammon they had ran out of the other and failed to notify us when ordering. The rest of food was only luke warm and only had peas and carrots out for the veg.

Me and my family will never eat here again! Every time we have been there's been issues with the food or the service we received. On one occasion we had to wait 25min for meat to be brought out and when we decided to leave and get a refund, the member of staff was rude (manager) and was not apologetic in the slightest. Not only that, we ordered a triffle from the pudding menu and what we received was crushed up jelly with tinned custard poured over. Again we complained but nothing got done about it. How the hell they've been awarded a 5 rating is beyond me.

Floors dirty tables skimmed over with a cloth, meat had no taste veg rubbery n tasteless, side sauces in little dishes at side of gravey pans dripped over sides look like been there ages , sultry staff

Bad start ice in our drinks when requested not. 25 minute wait for food. Slipped on food on the floor at the service area. 5 minute wait for gravy. Daughters gammon was all fat. No custard. And when I wanted to complain to the manager Liam Banks he let the bar person handle it. He had already given at least 3 people refunds. I won't be going again I won't be recommending it either

After being out all day with my Wife and grandson, we came upon this Carvery and found first of all the staff virtually ignored us as they served beer to the 'locals'. The table we picked was wet and greasy, the cutlery was not exactly clean. When I ordered the food I had to ask someone at the bar for service, which she did without a smile or any pleasantries. When we went up to the decks to choose our carvery we noted that the 'Chef' had also the same demeanour as the rest of his work colleagues and looked as if he would rather be somewhere else. As I went along the carvery the beef was finished, so I opted for the gammon and turkey, these were both dry and not very tasteful. As I continued along my journey along the vegetables everything seemed reasonable and then I noticed that a drunken local youth and his friends had great delight in getting beans and chips into the mashed potatoes. Overall the food was bland and the staff never came near to ask 'Is the meal ok'. As we left my 8 year old grandson asked me to take him to the gents . On entering the toilet he summed up the whole experience by saying the toilets were 'disgusting '

If it was possible I wouldn't give any stars !!!
