Old Thorns Manor Hotel Golf & Country Estate

What a lovely place.
Very warm friendly welcome by the lady’s on reception. Food on the sports bar was ok.
After a 16 hour day I just need a nice bath and comfy bed, which is exactly what I got.
Have booked to go back.

The hotel is one of the best I've stayed in. The staff were friendly and courteous. The breakfast was great, the carvery cannot be complained about. The sports bar was good and the food was OK in there. It looses a star because the windows and walls were too thin and it was annoying to listen to drunken people yabbering on at all hours, especially on the weekends. The room cleaning services were a little lax as well at times

No doubt Old Thorns is an amazing place for a range of hospitality services that one may need from time to time. We visited Old Thorns last Sunday (17/09/2017) to exhibit our wedding suits in a wedding show organized by PMN Wedding Fayres; and were immediately impressed by the sheer size and character of this venue. First impressions aside, the inside of the hotel was a as great as the outside look. Classic wooden floor, classic furniture, and wide space welcomes you pleasantly and before you start to become more inquisitive about the history of this place a modern twist of today's life style face you with a big smile - Starbucks coffee!!!! Yes absolutely! they have their own Starbucks coffee shop... As the wedding show was super super busy and we saw many many customers that day, we couldn't explore this amazing place thoroughly, so will go there again to have some chill time. Great!

Great golf course. Restaurant is a bit odd - think wine list from fine dining meets toby carvery. Rooms are small and a bit out of date but comfy enough. Lots on the ground floor. No air con in rooms. Service was very good and would go back.

A great hotel with welcoming staff. Just stayed overnight enjoyed the afternoon tea and the evening carvery was very good. The gym looked really well equipped and having played the course before it's a real challenge. The only down side was the spa. The it was okay and but we expected more.

Great staff, great course. And the dining hall is pretty good, to boot. Make sure you check out the Champagne Bar

Terrible music selection, Wedding nights in particular. Upwards of £5000 to have my wedding here, and they wouldn't even allow us to decide what type of music we wanted. They just let some monkey looking DJ play whatever he liked for the first half of the evening, and then we had to listen to, what only can be described as, death by Jazz flute, for the remainder of the evening.
The bar that we heard 'death by flute' was based on letting people in via room booking. As half my guests didnt have the funds to pay for the Extautionate room prices, they were turned away when they wanted to come to the second half of the evening. Ruined our entire day as we were left with two guests, out of 60, allowed into the bar. We were total caught off guard by this as we were not told this when booking.
We tried to reason with the managers and they told us it was policy. Policy? That we dot want to pay for your over Priced rooms?
Terrible service all round. Food was decent but you'll need a loan to fund drinks for the evening.

Fantastic wedding venue! Hopefully next time I'm there it will be for golf. The course looked amazing.

Stunning venue with a lovely modern yet well styled interior setting. Alters for all types of events I clouding conferences, wedding (which I attended) and numerous large rooms for functions and meetings.
The staff are professional, friendly and attentive.
