How to use a sauna: When you undress, wear as little as possible in the sauna. Swimwear or a towel is best, as sweat trapped by clothing cools the body. Drink a glass of water or herbal tea beforehand. Take a shower, then dry off before entering the sauna. Choose a place to sit – the higher you are in the sauna, the hotter it will be. Spread out your towel and sit completely on the towel. If there is enough room, lie down. Otherwise, sit with your legs drawn up slightly. We r...ecommend that you stay in the sauna between four – six minutes, depending on if you feel comfortable. If you are a regular sauna user, you can stay in between 10 – 15 minutes, or even a bit longer. Afterwards, give yourself time to cool down for a few minutes in peace and quiet – we recommend to take a cold shower – this closes your pores and boost your circulation. Make sure you then drink plenty of water to replenish the fluid you’ve sweated out. Spend as much time cooling down as you did in the sauna. To get the most benefits from the sauna, it is recommended to repeat this twice more (so three rounds in total) of heating in the sauna, followed by cooling down. Afterwards you should feel revived, relaxed and you should also be blessed with a wonderful night’s sleep. www.omasauna.co.uk
