The On-Pack Recycling Label scheme delivers a simple recycling message on both retail own label and branded consumer packaging to help comsumers recycle more material, more often.

The label clarifies the components of the packaging and the material that they are composed of. It also labels the components as either “widely recycled, check local recycling, or not currently recycled. ”
The labels are based on local authority collections throughout the UK.

This scheme was the first in the world to create a label that provides consumers with tangible information about what can and can't be recycled in the UK rather than what could hypothetically be recycled. For the first time, consumers are put at the heart of the scheme.
