On Target Archery Parties Description
Having worked in the leisure, recreational and activity area for many years I have decided to offer some of my extensive experience to the wider audience. I have been an archer leader in my primary role for over 10 years and I see on every occasion that a run archery the satisfaction that it brings out in folks regardless of age or ability. What I offer that other providers don't. I am mobile with all the equipment, insurance, CRB /DBS enhanced clearance and first aid qualification although I stress that archery is a very safe activity. most providers operate outdoors and are at the mercy of the great UK weather, I prefer to operate indoors but equally can run outdoor sessions, working indoors not only guarantees dry /wind free conditions but is a much safer controlled environment. I have many venues where I can operate from including village halls, community centres or school facilities or if you have somewhere in mind we can discuss the suitability for archery. In addition to archery I am a qualified mountain leader so there are other possibilities.
A bit about me; I served for over 24 years in the Royal Air Force where I was the team leader of a search and rescue unit, carrying out many rescues both in the UK and abroad including attending many aircraft crashes. After leaving the RAF I worked for North Yorkshire Police in the Firearms licencing department and now work for the Ministry of Defence as the manager of a Outdoor Recreation Department where I offer many different and exciting activities to military, civilians and their families.
What I aim to offer is a fun filled activity providing guidance and instruction to get the best out of each participant. By the end of an archery session each and every participant /archer! will have seen a significant improvement in their skill level.
Who is archery for? Anyone really. However I do have a minimum age, which through experience I find that 8yrs is the lower age due to equipment and concentration levels. As a rule I welcome kids parties for 9year olds but appreciate that some of their friends class mates or siblings may not have reached the age of 9 but would hope that the majority were over 9. Archery is great for all abilities including those with disabilities or learning difficulties but please make me aware of any individual limitations prior to booking.
