User

I had my 50th birthday celebration here 15th July 2017. What a fantastic atmosphere. The staff from the time of booking until we left could not have been anymore welcoming and helpful.

The food was brilliant, music awesome, and the staff were polite and friendly.

Thank you Dave and James for making my celebration a memorable one for all the right reasons 😊

User

Enjoyed a large Sunday dinner with my family. Pub has busy and quiet periods, sports on the big screen tv, live dj with dance floor, open till 2am, friendly helpful staff, outdoor seating, car parking available, function areas for private parties, prices reasonable, log fire on in the winter.

User

Called in to have a coffee yesterday lunch time, service was good and the pub itself was a nice environment, enjoyed our visit.

User

Always eat at O'Neills when we are in Solihull, never had a bad meal. Always found it welcoming with friendly staff, and like i say excellent food x

User

Went to O'Neills Solihull yesterday (Saturday 21st January) to watch the rugby on the TV. When we asked the staff member serving us if we could have the rugby on we were told that the TVs had already been set up for football all day & that was all that was o the schedule.

The staff member that served us made no attempt to change even one of the TVs over & there was no explanation as to why this could not be done. Her attitude stunk, she blatantly had no interest in keeping the customer happy & was just concerned with keeping the bar ticking over. It wasn't even that busy. The worst thing is no one in there was paying any attention to any of the football that was on.

For a pub & a brand that prides itself on showing rugby both myself & my friend who I was with were appalled by the attitude of the staff.

We are regulars at O'Neills & would have spent several hours watching the games, drinking Guinness & would have eaten as well. In the end we ended up giving out custom to Walkabout who were more than happy to put the rugby on for us.

As both of us are ex Mitchell's & Butlers employees & shareholders the service we received was awful.

I must say that this was the first time this has happened, we are always looked after so well by Jo Rooksby & James normally I know that had either of them been working we would not have had this problem.

With the 6 Nations in the horizon I hope this does. It become a regular occurrence.

To be fair, I've frequented O'Neils for a number of years and am familiar with their Manager 'James' who has previously managed 'The Coach and Horses" in Solihull. I've always found the service to be fair and contrite until tonight. I had a double vodka soda and lime, no ice, which I admit looks like tap water or squash, however almost a full glass was taken from the bar and staff refused to acknowledge this or replace it. Whilst I appreciate budgets are tight etc my drink which cost me over £5 had been taken and staff were refusing to replace. Not only were they refusing to replace but suggesting I was not aware of the full facts; which I find very insulting and frustrating. I wrote this review at 2.22am on Sunday 28th January 2018. I may have had a drink but I am certainly not drunk!!! I had almost a full drink left and was told it would not be replaced after it was taken by staff believing it was tap water. I purchased another but felt it within my right to mention this in my review. I wish my experience had been different as I had previously respected the views and observation of 'James' the manager. #disappointed #letdown #unhappycustomer #neveragain

Left utterly upset and humiliated last night. I was with my friends for one of their birthdays last night (they are all a lot older than 21 year old me) and I only drink soft drinks so never took my id out with me as I was planning on leaving by 9pm so figured I wouldn't need it. I actually got asked to leave the premises as they couldn't serve me to a soft drink at 6:30pm as it was a bank holiday and if the police came in it would be the staff who got into trouble and not myself. I argued the fact that even though it was only 6:30 surely I should be allowed on the premises drinking a soft drink and was made to feel like a liar when they refused to serve me as I was sitting with friends who had purchased alcohol. Was my first experience here and will not be re visiting any time soon. 😞 Would love a response to this post by the way explaining a little more on why I couldn't be served to a soft drink in a pub at 6:30 pm because "it was a bank holiday". Had to leave my friends birthday celebrations and miss out. So disappointing.

For a pub who prides themselves on being "warm and welcoming" I did not feel that way last night .
