I went to this place and fell in love with it. After our first visit during our vacation we pretty much went every night. Now, we are back to our country and missing the beer, cider , food and music.

User

Found this place after eating in Chinatown on a night out with friends. The atmosphere was great, the band playing this particular Thursday were called the Sean Jackson band and were absolutely brilliant. We arrived as they started about 9.30. You would book them for a party, they were so good, we danced to every song and left when they finished. We weren't charged on entering the place which we thought was brilliant, but when we left we could see a lot of people queuing and either showing ID or paying, so maybe good to get there early. We didn't eat here so can't comment, but if you are looking for a fun, lively place for a dance and a laugh, that does nice Guinness then this is it! Will def be back!

User

great venue with multiple floors (the bar where they get the live music in is the best bit), all the staff that my friends and I spoke to were pleasant, sociable and delivered great service - despite the increasing number of people to wait on (I'm looking at you, Layla (have I spelt that right?) and Ronny! (also spelt right?)); especially good when it comes to cocktails as well - nice variety at decent prices.

Will definitely visit again in the future. Double thumbs up.

User

I realy loved this place. Good music, good food and drinks, nice ppl. Buuut the first floor's dj is no good. He just leave 40 seconds of each music playing and then does a terrible mix and change the music...

Your decision to ban paper Italian ID card is absolutely discriminatory. I can travel all over Europe with it, but I can enter in your pub, there is something wrong in that. It will be a pleasure going to another pub from 1 May. Bye bye

User

Your decision to ban Italian Paper National ID is utterly discriminatory. Whatever your reasons, you can't refuse an internationally recognised document that allows free movement in United Kingdom for Italian citizens. I sincerely hope you can back off from your decisions and take a step back, as this measure is deeply unfair and offensive towards thousands of Italian people who work, spend their money and pay taxes in this country.

Went to O’Neil’s with friends to celebrate my birthday. I love the place but unfortunately isn’t well managed at all. A guy spilt the complete drink of one of my friends on the floor and puts up for a fight. The duty manager William comes around and decides to throw my friend on the street without even get his side of the story. Honestly disgusting! I can’t recommend this place anymore!

User

We were recommended this bar by someone in a restaurant. We arrived on a Saturday night after seeing a show at the theatre. We stood in a line for 25 minutes before being charged £10 each to get in. Once we had battled our way to the bar past all of the ridiculously drunk underage people we were charged nearly £15 for 2 small drinks. When I finally managed to lift my feet off the disgustingly sticky floor we found a toilet. I entered the toilet to be greeted by a toilet attendant who told me to leave my drink near the wash basin unattended. Then she tried to charge me for "looking after it". Safe to say I diddnt drink the drink after being forced to leave it.

I will never recommend this establishment to anyone and we will not be returning.

We came here for my twin girl's 17th and what a disappointment. We travelled from Durham and liked the look of this place for breakfast. However, after a 45 minute wait, it seemed they had lost our order and so it wasn't even being made. The young, very rude girl who we spoke to asked us "can you see how many orders we have?" Indicating that we should have more patience but when we asked her to check for ours, it wasn't actually there. We were then told it would be with us in 5 minutes. Ten minutes later, the pancakes with a request for no bacon arrived with bacon! We ended up getting a refund. I wouldn't recommend. They clearly can't manage

User

Used to love this place, last nights experience was the worst I have experienced and I didn’t even get in, queued to get in got told it was £10 to get in but only cash so went to cash point then they didn’t want to let my partner rejoin the queue, then we needed a passport or Id card to get in, who carries their passport with them for a night on the piss unless their underage and I’m certainly not, this along with aggressive bouncers, I will never go back... why ohh why has it changed so much in a short period of time I can only guess that there has been trouble or they have been done for underage and this has been enforced by the local government in order for them to keep their license, it’s a real shame

User

They moved our table right up against the disabled toilet door, I assume they don't accomodate the disabled after 9pm! Absolutely shocking! Added to the miserable bar staff that clearly don't think a smile is warranted when serving the public. Note to management, Some staff training is clearly in order here!

User

Ridiculous place... the steward in the front door is so rude.

They ask to check your bags, your pocket it’s completely embarrassing.

If you can go to the next pub in the corner. Happy people and you can avoid bad moments.

O'Neill's is very lucky to receive one star, I would have given it none but had to put at least one to write a review. I was refused entry into O'Neill's after a security guard said that I was 'drunk' even though I don't drink alcohol. I said to him that I don't drink and he replied that the only people who don't drink are Muslims and he doesn't want them in there because they're terrorists and still refused to let me in.

I showed my ID card and my bag for him to check and said that I'm with people who can vouch for me and some of the others I was with went in too.

I said that he can smell my breath to prove that I am not inebriated but he shoved me to the floor.

As I got up, I called the police but they refused to send officers because security guards have the 'right' to use 'reasonable force'.

The security guard was a black African guy who had a problem with 'brown' or Muslim people.

There have been a lot of complaints about your security and staff on Facebook and Trip Advisor.

I wouldn't recommend this place. What sort of Irish pub they are. They won't even accepted Ulster bank sterling note and First trust bank sterling note. They said it's different rate. I said it's sterling not even Euro.

But Waxy o Connors accepted it. If you from Northern Ireland and u don't have English notes with you don't go to this pub.

Or even u have English pound might as well go to O'connors than this pub. We love going to O'Neills around England but this is the worst O'Neills we ever been.

User

I went to the place with my friends and I ordered chicken wings and made the payment but after sometime I was told that kitchen is closed and I would get the refund after that I visited the place 3 times and asked for the refund but each time I was told that I would get it and now it’s more than a month still I dint get my refund back

User

I thought O Neill was a place to eat, drink and be merry... where everyone was welcome. Apparently I was wrong. They have recently decided to create their own “laws”, in fact they are now NOT accepting the Italian identity card. Why? Which is the reason for this? I’m italian, my ID is recognised internationally and I truly don’t get this decision. This is called discrimination and I will make sure to spread the word about your racial issues, to everybody I know. SHAME ON YOU.

User

I heard that this pub is not accepting legal identification document from italy. If that is a problem I will suggest to those i know to avoid this place so that you will not waste time to identify customers.

User

Got there at ten past eleven. It opens at eleven and were Told by the staff that they were not ready to open yet and Told us to Get out. Will not go Back and wil not recomend to anyone!

User

Cover band on the upper level is really nice, perfect if you want to dance and enjoy the party, have a couple of drinks, but I do not recommend the food there, the burger we had felt like at least a week old, with really bad and chewy bacon, still feel a little sick even thinking about it..
