About Open Linguistic Mission (Olm)

Open Linguistic Mission is a project that promotes the importance of multicultural immersion and interaction among students based in different parts of the world. Our purpose is to facilitate to children and teenagers in Bogota, Colombia, who are financially limited to access to international experiences, an academic and ludic space that encourages them to boost their interest sense about other cultures and traditions. This is achieved by organising weekly sessions in which international students from the University of Glasgow mentor Colombian kids (online) about cultural knowledge and motivate them to practice a new language, mainly English. Likewise, OLM is part of the curriculum of the institutions; a matter that allows easily the contact between tutors and students. Beyond providing a fun environment, this initiative seeks to protect and improve the intellectual development of our students, despite the external obstacles that can be presented.
