If, like me, you love a to do list, think about keeping a ‘completed this week’ list. It means on Fri/Sat/Sun you can review achievements, give yourself a pat on the back, hell maybe even have a celebratory cup of tea and a biscuit (huge glass of wine?) before moving on to your tasks for new week.

Commuting a little further than normal this morning, to West Chiltington for a new client meeting. Most of our time will be spent looking at their current processes, what causes them the most stress and what takes up the most of their time, before planning how we can help. All our first meetings are free of charge and if I can get to you in person I will! Especially if you have a warm office and plenty of tea ☕️ 😂

It’s the best feeling in the world, meeting a new client and seeing their relief as you explain all the things we can change and do to make their lives easier. Now, who can we organise next?!

I’m possibly teaching some of you to suck eggs with this one, but I’ve visited a number of new clients recently who don’t understand ‘one drive’ and what they can use it for. For those of you that don’t know about it, it can be a really useful small business tool. If you have office 365 on your laptop or PC (so, Microsoft outlook, excel, word etc) you will also have the one drive cloud. It appears as a little cloud icon like in this picture.
This cloud, or ‘drive’ can be us...ed to store all your documents, photos etc on, and can be accessed from any other PC or laptop. You use it in exactly same way as you’d save documents to the hard drive of your folder, so no difference at all to the way you work.
If you’re working with a freelancer, such as ourselves, it’s a great way to securely and instantly share files!

Do you ever have that ‘overwhelmed’ feeling, when there’s tones of different things going on and you don’t entirely feel in control of it all?
I was feeling a bit like that earlier today, so sat down at my laptop for an hour and planned the next few weeks.
I wrote down all the things that were in my head. I planned what I’m working on and when, checked my childcare is sorted when I need it, and checked locations and train times for my London meetings. I checked the school t...ime table and made sure I’m not missing anything, and managed client expectations with a few emails about when I’m next back in the office.
Boom, I’m back in control! And it only took an hour.

It's not just Tax that is calculated when you submit your self assessment, but also National Insurance contributions. Some NI payments are due even if your income is below the taxable threshold - so don't assume you won't have anything to pay at the end of January! 💷
