Ormiston Park Academy

Ormiston Park Academy: a growing Academy serving the community of Aveley and Thurrock.

Ormiston Park officially opened as an Academy in September 2009 and students and staff moved into their new £16 million building in November 2013.

It is an 11-19 mixed academy and is sponsored by the Ormiston Academies Trust. In April 2017 Ofsted graded the Academy as GOOD in all aspects of its provision.

The Academy’s vision is for its students to ‘believe and achieve’ and it’s broad and balanced curriculum is supported by a range of enrichment opportunities ensuring that they have the highest aspirations.

Ormiston park Academy holds both Healthy School and International School status. It has been granted a British Council Platinum award for its work in Connecting Classrooms and in January 2017 was awarded the Diversity Mark. It has attained the AfPE quality mark with Distinction, Investors in People status and, more recently, has been accredited as a Microsoft Office Specialist Academy.

The Academy has a growing Sixth Form and offers a range of level 3 vocational courses alongside a range of planned work experience, leisure and recreation opportunities, and supported individual study. In addition, students are able to undertake A levels in the core subjects and access a wide range of courses made available through a strategic partnership with South Essex College. Where appropriate students continue studying GCSE English and Mathematics alongside other Level 2 programmes.
