About Orpheus Sinfonia Foundation

The Orpheus Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation working to provide professional opportunities for the finest young musicians in London.

Orpheus Sinfonia Foundation Description

Orpheus Sinfonia Foundation was founded to support and nurture talented young musicians, emerging from conservatoire, to embark on professional careers, by enabling opportunity, work and professional experience. Through this we promote musical excellence and reaching future generations, responding to lack of musical access for young people (as evidenced in government reports). To achieve this we produce high-quality performances for public benefit, exploring new and ground-breaking avenues and also actively engage with accessible performances, outreach work and community interaction. Wide-ranging high-level performances incorporate symphonic repertoire, world premières, curated and bespoke programmes, children's interactive performances, workshops and introductions, choral works, orchestra live to film and opera. In the past year we have provided work for 196 musicians, giving 36 performances to public diverse audiences of 14861, brought music to 3183 school children & 13 schools. Responding to the lack of access to music for young people we create projects that open the doors to symphonic music for all ages and backgrounds. We achieve these activities by working with a wide array of partners in relevant areas, so strengthening what we can achieve and the reach our work covers. We actively seek out those who will benefit most from our activities.

We are most grateful for the generous support and sponsorship of our friends, benefactors and trusts and foundations, which enables our activities to the benefit of so many.

“Superb playing by the Orpheus Sinfonia…deliver the highest level of excellence. ”
