When it comes to back pain or any MSK pain, the best approach is always to achieve a full recovery within the first 6 weeks. Pain which lasts longer than 12 weeks is called chronic pain, and this means the pain begins to become more complicated or ‘centralised’. Chronic pain develops new pain pathways from the brain, rather than from the injury site and this requires a different therapeutic approach to resolve.
As an Osteopath, my focus is always to support my patients toward...s a full recovery within the first 6 weeks, irrespective of how intense their pain or injury is. When I’m not in clinic, I see patients suffering the same conditions, working as a radiographer in surgical procedures. These surgical procedures aim to relieve pain levels in chronic pain patients. However pain relief outcomes are often very short-lived or no better than placebo. In this Xray we’re doing a caudal epidural, you can see the needle and x-ray contrast. I’m always amazed at how varied the angle of the sacrum is in patients during these procedures.

This is a really good explanation about what meditation is, what to expect as you begin to learn how to meditate, what comes up when u begin and why we do it. Learning how to meditate is not an easy process in the beginning and it requires persistent diligence. Treat yourself, learn how to find better mental and emotional health, and therefore better physical health, through a regular practice of meditation.
There is an important distinction to make between learning how to a...ctually meditate versus relaxing through a meditative app. They are absolutely not the same thing. Learning how to meditate requires time and discipline and it is a journey into greater self-awareness through a cleansing process of observation. The Apps help you relax.
For anybody who would like to learn how to meditate, I recommend taking 10 days out of your life to do a Vipassana course. I personally think it is some of the most profound teaching available on the planet today. Below is the link for the UK centre. There are centres all around the world, courses are running continuously. I cannot recommend this training highly enough.
