Other World Escapes made it to the semi-finals of the Santander Universities Entrepreneurship competition and we couldn't be prouder of our MD (Gareth) for representing us so well!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Otherworld Escapes! Our team from The Real Escape went head-to-head in their Vermillion Society escape room to capture secret blueprint plans before the dastardly Syndicate can. Interesting throughout and challenging enough to rack our minds the whole time, we would certainly recommend this room to anyone interested in escape rooms!



The two rooms were identical in challenges but unique in décor, with one room being Card of Hearts themed and the other being Card of Clubs themed. Everything about the room, from the catchy background music to the gentleman-club aesthetic furniture, kept you within the 1930’s.



The rooms aptly named ‘hint personality’ (because it does have a real personality), Tommy Automaton, is a cyberpunk android placed in the room to help you along the way. Even if you don’t ask for a clue, Tommy will still cheer you along and keep the thrill of success high throughout the game. Tommy Automaton is, in our opinion, one of the best components of the room. It’s like having an extra friend along the ride, and his witty repartee adds an extra level of amusement to your experience.



The Games Masters of Otherworld Escapes are on another level of customer service. Friendly, professional, fun, Nicole and Rob (our Games Masters for the day) warmly welcomed us into the intriguing world of the Vermillion Society.

We had a great time at the escape room - we completed the Mayan room - 2 adults, a 14 year old and a 9 year old. The challenges ranged from easy to hard, really interactive using a range of senses!! - you really need to use your brain and some logic!! Fabulous afternoon for all ages, we enjoyed it so much as soon as we came out we booked for our son to do the vermilion club room for his birthday!! The staff were so friendly and helpful also. Highly recommend!!

We did this on Friday night, I booked in advance and due to the size of my group (17 in the end) it was hard to tie down numbers, the guys were really helpful, dealt with all the changes really well showing great flexibility! On the night the hosts were amazing and the games great fun! For something different, that’s great fun this is a amazing place! Highly recommend for all!!! ������

We came along tonight and none of us have ever tried an escape room before. The Vermillion room is brilliant. I can’t rate you highly enough, what a clever idea. I loved the fact we could go head to head. We will most definitely be back. Thank you for making us so welcome x

Took my son and his friends for his birthday and they absolutely loved it. Room was great and the staff have been really helpful from booking to today. The member of staff we saw today was lovely and very patient when faced with a group of highly excitable 11 year old boys!! We managed with a little help from the gods to complete it just in time and got some lovely team photos. Can't wait to come again although next time no kids! �

This was our first escape room experience, and it exceeded our expectations! The Gamesmaster was brilliant, the room and the puzzles fantastic, and the immersive experience was excellent! We’d highly recommend Other World Escapes, and we certainly will be back!

The second you walk through the door you know it's going to be a great experience. Staff are very friendly, the backstory is interesting and there are lots of surprises in the room (we did the Vermillion room). Would certainly recommend it and we'll be returning to do the Mayan room next.

The Mayan escape room was my first escape experience, I bought as a birthday present for a friend and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. We will definitely be doing another one , but probably with more than just 2 of us next time! The hour just flew!! A truly immersive experience. Would highly recommend to friends.

Played the Vermilion room today & loved it, just managed to solve it in the hour (not bad for just 2 of us). The puzzles were really well thought out, a good mix of toughies & some not so tough to spur you on & it was a very clever use of the room space they had. The staff were all lovely & clearly passionate about their jobs which was really nice to see. We will definitely have to get a bigger team together to tackle the Mayan room soon...

Played the Mayan room today for my daughter’s 12th birthday, it was so much fun! The room was fantastic, the sensory elements were brilliant and Gareth is awesome. I was really worried it would be too difficult for my daughter and her friend but they outsmarted the adults at times! I researched literally every escape room between Southampton and Portsmouth to find the best, and I think I did! In terms of bragging rights mentioned in Carly’s review...they’ll be mine!

Other World Escapes was an incredible experience for the hen do that we were on today. The Mayan Room was a different type of experience which was a cross between the crystal maze and the best escape room I have had a go at. The owner was super welcoming and this experience set a great tone to our weekend. Thank you!

My husband and I were absolutely in our element this morning! We visited the Vermilion escape room to kick off his birthday celebrations and were so impressed! We have done various Escape Rooms before and were completely submerged in the story today. We were 3 minutes over time but finished in the end... And haven't stopped talking about it since we left. Fantastic set up, fully submersive and fantastic staff. We will be back!!

My first escape gaming experience! Lovely staff who were more then happy to help with hints/clues that did not ruin the game or give away too much.

The game itself was brilliantly put together from the moment the game starts you are immersed in the world they put you in. I will 100% try their other rooms and look forward to more from them!

My favourite escape room company! Our team have tried most so far (apart from Elusion) in Hampshire. This was our second trip to complete the Mayan room, which we found a real challenge as a four, in a good way of course. The theme was fantastic, and a good mix of puzzles.



What really sets them apart is that you can tell the owners love escape rooms just as much, as they’re more than happy to talk about the room afterwards and discuss rooms in general, which is all part of the fun. Others sometimes feel like they want you in and out ASAP, but not here.



Can’t wait for the Abyss room.

Just want to say a massive thank you to Other World Escapes! We booked the Vermilion room at the very last minute (after a mix up with a booking elsewhere) and they were more than happy to accommodate us. Whilst certainly not experts we have done a few escape rooms and Tommy Automaton was definitely the most awesome hint ‘system’ that we have seen (not that we needed hints of course...haha). The theming was great, loved the steampunk vibe.



After completing this room my husband (who has no shame) hinted that he would like to do another room and Rob went above and beyond to let us stay and do the Mayan room too, which was also brilliant. Definitely the more challenging room for a small team, we felt the pressure a bit more in this one, but luckily Ah Puch was there to steer us in the right direction!



Thanks Rob for being an excellent GM, I hope you managed to catch your ferry home! We'll definitely be back to do Abyss and will be following your Kickstarter campaign!

Great room, host Tommy was a delight and made a change from a computer screen! The staff are fabulous people and answer any questions you have and make even the newest players feel at ease. I would suggest trying the vermillion room, and if you have a large group split into the vs mode!

Great experience - loved the immersive features!

We undertook the Mayan room as a group of 4 with mixed escape room experience. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and particularly liked the way in which hints were given and the immersive elements (sounds & smells) which really added to the experience.

We successfully escaped and only had a couple of moments where we were well and truly stumped!

The staff were all super friendly and made the experience enjoyable. Can't wait to go back and try out another of their rooms sometime!

Did the vermilion room yesterday as a Father’s Day treat for my husband, my mum and dad and my 12 year old son. This was Mum and dads first time and although a little apprehensive as to what to expect, they loved it! We had such a good time, the puzzles were very clever but not impossible like some escape rooms we’ve done in the past. We escaped with 3 mins to spare so it was exciting, thrilling and fun. Nobody fell out with each other which was a bonus �

Rob was an excellent host, you can tell a lot of thought has gone into the complete customer experience and that he has a passion for what he does. Can’t wait to do the Myan room �

Amazing! We live in London and this is the second time we have been here. We did the Mayan room first time and yesterday we did Vermillion. Nicole is so welcoming. We booked last minute and she was very happy to host us.



The puzzles are great, very creative and challenging but not so hard it is impossible. You can get some helpful hints along the way and it is such a buzz when you complete it. Thanks again!
